Enfamil vs. Kirkland

Per the "go ahead" we got from the pedi, we switched J's formula to the Kirkland brand.  Reasons being were to cut costs but we didn't want to switch to a brand that wasn't as nutritous.  Despite the slight differences, the pedi said that would be fine because J was recieving vitamins from his solid foods now.

After J was on the Kirkland brand for about a week, we noticed him spitting up more and had a bile odor to it.  Also, the formula powder had a different smell and flavor then the Enfamil.  When we started noticing these changes, we immediately switched back to Enfamil and not going to bother again with a cheaper brand.

I just wanted to share our experience with Kirkland brand just in case others were thinking about switching.

Re: Enfamil vs. Kirkland

  • We went from Enfamil to UP & UP brand from target. We were able to transition successfully.I was thrilled that is worked because it has significantly cut down our formula cost.

Enfamil: $33 for 34 oz vs. Up and Up which was $20 for 40oz.
