Florida Babies

Need Riverview/Brandon OBGYN recs!

I had my baby at BRH (which was a great experience), but I'm really not that pleased with Women's Care Florida group in Brandon. The wait is just too darn long, and I'd rather just have one doc instead of being handed off to whoever is there at my appt time. I've also had issues with them and scheduling appointments. Needless to say, I'm just annoyed by them entirely.

Any good recommendations for this area? I'm actually in Riverview, but Brandon isn't far either (10 minutes) TIA!

  • I go to Women's Health Care on Oakfield. It is a group, but I love all the doctors there. I've been with them for about 15 years. They were very helpful with with my fertility issues, miscarriages, and now pregnancy. They deliver at St. Joe's. You couldn't pay me to go to BRH.

  • I also live in Riverview, and I go to Zweibach Women's Health. I'm really, really pleased with them thus far. They have an office in Riverview (I live in South Fork and it's maybe a five minute drive for me) as well as Brandon. You can request to be seen at whichever you want, and they are usually quite happy to send new patients to the Riverview office because you can get in faster.

If you're an OB patient, you will probably end up seeing all three of the doctors plus the nurse practitioner during your pregnancy. If you're just going to gynecological care, I'm pretty sure you can request whichever doctor you prefer.

Also, I can tell you that I absolutely do NOT recommend Dr. Pitt's office. I don't know anything about the other doctors there, but she is just awful.

I remember reading your post about her a week or so back. That is where I went, and I didn't really have any issues with any of the docs there. Some of them were actually super nice and helpful. But I'm not a fan of the front desk girls and medical assistants there.

I won't be there as an OB patient, just routine gyno care. Thanks for the rec!

  • Edit - the office is on Eichenfield, right off of Oakfield...

  • I believe I go to the same group if it is on Eichenfield.  I have been a patient there for years.  Initially I saw the nurse practitioner but now I see Dr. Riemer most of the time.  He is awesome and I love the way he takes to time to explain everything in a way that I understand.  He is quirky yet very serious about my care.  Dr. Saveedra is also awesome.  The only one that I did not mesh well with is Dr. Sosa.

  • Yes. I attend this OBGYN too and they do deliver at St. Joes. I had a wonderful experience there and I think Brandon would be a wonderful experience too (the next baby will be born at Brandon).
