I'm interested in getting a ring sling and I'm not sure which to go for. I've been looking at the maya, hava, and zolo and was wondering what the benefits/downsides of each are (or any others that are your faves). I saw the similar post down below, but would appreciate some info on the others, with your personal experiences.
I have a moby wrap and love the closeness it brings, but it takes so long to put it together and I would like the ease of slipping DS in and out of a carrier quickly.
I would like one that allows me to easily nurse in public.
I'm 6 feet tall, and would like one that works well for someone my height (I know they have multiple sizes, but still).
I would like to comfortably carry him for long periods of time in it.
I would like one that I can use well into toddler-hood, should that work for us.
TIA!
Re: Delurking with a Ring Sling Q
I have a Canadian Ollie Golightly linen RS I really love. I was given a Heart-to-Heart RS that I didn't like at all. We have an awesome baby-wearing store in town and I figured out with their help that the cotton RS don't adjust nearly as well as linen. We have a big, hot trip coming up, so the linen was a nice option but it slides so easily that my husband loves it too, after swearong off the one we were given. I also loved the Moby-type wrap for DD when she was three months and younger but we have definitely moved on to the RS exclusively. I paid a lot for it ($130) in Canada but found these online and I'm going to order a new one. https://www.sleepingbaby.net/
My husband is 6'7" and uses the one we have in a standard size, no problem.
I got a linen ring sling thru Sleep Baby Productions (SBP for short). I liked it because she will make them to your specifications so you can get a longer sling if need be, pick out different types of fabric to use (cotton, linen, silk etc), and can add on a decorative panel if you want or a pocket. The pocket is nice for shoving a sposie and wipes in or a binky when you want to go out for a quick walk and dont want to drag your whole diaper bag with you. I ordered it and had it within a week so the service was great.
I chose linen because it's really breathable which is great for Chicago summers and is also very supportive for older toddlers. As others mentioned the tail works great to help cover up while you are nursing.
