Re: Registry - expensive items?
Our most expensive item was our double stroller. It was $140.00. My grandma on my dad's side ended up buying me the $170.00 one because she thought it was better.
I did my registry at Target instead of BRU because I felt the prices were better and I felt bad putting things on it there.
I didn't put a dresser or any other furniture on my registry. We will buy our own dresser when we're ready. My other grandma bought us the crib already so there was no need for us to put that on it.. The one I picked was $299 though. Plus the $60 mattress and shipping.
With dd, the most expensive was our BOB stroller. Other items above $100 - breast pump, pnp, high chair, swing, car seat. I wish I would have registered for a video monitor.
ETA: If it's your first baby, I'd definitely go ahead and register for the big (or expensive) items you want. It doesn't mean people *have* to buy them, but you might be surprised how friends, family or coworkers may go in together to get some of the bigger items. Plus, it's nice to keep a running list of what you really want, and you might be able to use a completion coupon on the items later.
The most expensive item on my registry is a breast pump...and I even went with a single one to try to keep the cost down. I had a glider on there too, but then was worried I had too many expensive items on there so I ended up taking it off.
I do believe thats the only item on there that's over $100. I've got a couple items in the $70 range though.
This. I'm not doing a registry for this pregnancy, but this is what I did with my first. We did receive surprise purchases from coworkers and friends, who did go in together to purchase a big price item.
Jan17 Sept Sig: Pumpkin Spice gone too far
The most expensive item is the Britax Marathon 70 (289 at BRU, 230 at Amazon)
Other than that, here are the items over 100 dollars on the lists:
Ergo--114
Jogging stroller--140
Over 50 we have the pack and play and the jumperoo.
Most everything is between 5-50 dollars. I'd rather put a lot of less expensive items on the list so people can have the freedom to buy what they're comfortable buying. If they want to spend more, they can always buy a couple of things and put them together.
Breastfeeding and pregnant!
We had a couple. This is our first baby, so we have absolutely nothing. We put the crib and dresser/changing table combo on there, even though his grandma already said she was getting it, and the stroller was on there, but his paretns claimed that one.
The other things we have on there are the breast pump, the video monitor, the high chair, pack n play, and the swing. And of course the theme crib bedding, but thats a 6- piece set..
