Registry - expensive items?

What is the most expensive item on your baby registry and how many items over $100 are on there.

Trying to be sensitive, but so many baby items are spendy.

Re: Registry - expensive items?

  • The most expensive items on our registry were our furniture pieces: crib, dresser, changing table. And breast pump and travel system.  My parents bought our crib and dresser already.  This is our first child, so we registered for everything, so that way whatever doesn't get bought we can at least get completion coupons for and finish up ourselves for a discount.

  • My most expensive thing is a breast pump. and to add will be a video monitor.  I know they are things that most likely won't be bought for us, but at least it's a list for me to keep in mind for myself. And if someone feels generous along the lines then why not keep them there lol.  I think all together there may be liek 3-5 things over 100.  those two things, a crib, changing table, and some sort of swing i think.

  • Our most expensive item was our double stroller. It was $140.00. My grandma on my dad's side ended up buying me the $170.00 one because she thought it was better.

I did my registry at Target instead of BRU because I felt the prices were better and I felt bad putting things on it there.

I didn't put a dresser or any other furniture on my registry. We will buy our own dresser when we're ready. My other grandma bought us the crib already so there was no need for us to put that on it.. The one I picked was $299 though. Plus the $60 mattress and shipping.

  • With dd, the most expensive was our BOB stroller. Other items above $100 - breast pump, pnp, high chair, swing, car seat. I wish I would have registered for a video monitor.

ETA: If it's your first baby, I'd definitely go ahead and register for the big (or expensive) items you want. It doesn't mean people *have* to buy them, but you might be surprised how friends, family or coworkers may go in together to get some of the bigger items. Plus, it's nice to keep a running list of what you really want, and you might be able to use a completion coupon on the items later.

  • For me with our first...the items over $100 were the swing, carseat and stroller, Pak-n-play, Jumperoo(a must in our eyes), carseat for when they grow out of infant one and highchair. Bouncers can be over a hundred bucks...but that isnt worth it to us because they are in it for such a short period of time...and we purchased our own nursing pump. Thats all that comes to mind right away...sure Iam missing something.

  • I honestly don't think we have anything over $100 left.  We had the furniture but that was all purchased by my parents.  The stroller was there too but we bought that with gift cards we have already recieved.  We have been very lucky so far and have recieved so many hand me downs that are perfect!  Just little things left at this point.

  • The most expensive item on my registry is a breast pump...and I even went with a single one to try to keep the cost down.    I had a glider on there too, but then was worried I had too many expensive items on there so I ended up taking it off.

I do believe thats the only item on there that's over $100.   I've got a couple items in the $70 range though.

This.  I'm not doing a registry for this pregnancy, but this is what I did with my first.  We did receive surprise purchases from coworkers and friends, who did go in together to purchase a big price item.

  • I have gone in with multiple people to buy expensive gifts for people.  I think you should keep the expensive gifts on there at least to get the discount after the baby is born, even no one buys it for you.  As long as there are plenty of lower priced items I think you're being sensitive enough.
  • 3 expensive items. One is a Britax car seat for $400 lol. My mom will be the only one to buy that.

    Same.
I would definitely put them on.
My MIL and 2 SILs went in together and bought our travel system ($300+)
My 2 aunts went in together and bought our swing ($150ish)
    My grandma bought my PNP.
And my 2 sisters went in together and got out bouncer (like a jumperoo)

We have a bunch of expensive stuff on ours.  We don't expect anyone to buy it, but getting the 15% off coupon for anything left on the registry will be helpful when we go to purchase it.

  • The most expensive item is the Britax Marathon 70 (289 at BRU, 230 at Amazon)

Other than that, here are the items over 100 dollars on the lists:

    Ergo--114

    Jogging stroller--140

Over 50 we have the pack and play and the jumperoo.

Most everything is between 5-50 dollars. I'd rather put a lot of less expensive items on the list so people can have the freedom to buy what they're comfortable buying. If they want to spend more, they can always buy a couple of things and put them together.

  • I put a $275 baby monitor on mine. You never know if a group of people want to go in on a gift for you! Just keep some variety in your registry. I have items priced from $10 to $300. People will buy based on what they can afford.

  • We had a couple. This is our first baby, so we have absolutely nothing. We put the crib and dresser/changing table combo on there, even though his grandma already said she was getting it, and the stroller was on there, but his paretns claimed that one.

The other things we have on there are the breast pump, the video monitor, the high chair, pack n play, and the swing. And of course the theme crib bedding, but thats a 6- piece set..

  • i made a registry/list last time, but it was more for things I wanted to buy, or just things I liked. No one even looked at my registry. A few  things on my list were over $100 -- car seat, stroller, crib.

  • We put the nursery furniture on our registry because I know someone in my family will purchase the pieces. Other than that, our glider is $200, the travel system is about $170 and high chair maybe $85. Otherwise we put a good price range of items so everyone could feel comfortable buying from our list.

  • we have plenty of pricey items on our reg, i think the most is 299 but we don't expect anyone to buy them. however, I know sometimes people go in together on the big ticket items plus whatever isn't bought we'll get a discount on if we decide to buy ourselves later on which Im sure we will. We also put a lot on your reg so people will have plenty of options from cheapy stuff all the way up to the pricey. If you need it within the first year I'd say go ahead dont be shy and put it on the reg, worst case is no one buys it.

  • We put everything we needed on the registry including all the nursery furniture.  I did take the glider off the registry and purchased it last week.  It was the most expensive item on the list.

  • I think the most expensive item we have right now is our stroller set. It's $250, I believe. We also have a crib, pack and play, and glider on there now that are all over $100. That's all the expensive items, and it's more or less to help me remember what to get in the coming weeks. Lol.
