Hello,
I made the switch to "natural" shampoos when I first got pregnant back in Feb 2010 and have been really good about purchasing PETA friendly products that are also eco-friendly ever since. However, I have still yet to find a good shampoo! I never thought I had oily hair, it's been "normal" my whole life, with a little wave to it. I don't color my hair either. So I just need a basic shampoo/conditioner, but all the ones I've used leave my hair greasy the next day. Maybe my hair is different now after baby, but still, I look like I haven't washed my hair in a week and I JUST washed it last night. I don't use hair products that make it greasy either!
Before I drop a lot of money on a variety of prodcuts, tell me what you use and love!
Re: Recommend your eco-friendly shampoo!
mine's not marketed as EF (and thus probably isn't in some ways), but it's free of all the scary stuff we're supposed to be avoiding (parabens, SLS, etc). i love it. it took some getting used to, because it doesn't lather, but it's wonderful. i have dry, wavy hair, that i do color. it doesn't strip my color and my hair is much healthier than it used to be.
Deva Care No-Poo
have you tried the Giovanni products? i use one of their conditioners and really like it.
Desert Esence shampoos and conditioners are the closest EF ones that I can find to conventional products, and they really aren't that expensive either.
For the record, I like the coconut version the best! My hair is long, thick, course, and curly with plenty of frizz, and this stuff has been the best that I've tried (of the non-conventionals). Another tip- I really like Lush's R&B leave in conditioner. I use it kind of like a gel and let my hair air dry, and my hair is amazing when I use it (tons of compliments).

Um, sorry- I see our hair is opposite. I think you would HATE Lush's R&B based on what you said about having oily hair.
I think Desert Essence would work for you, but use a different variety than the coconut (because it is for dry hair).
Big E (6) & Little E (2.5)
