Has anyone in the Bristol area taken clothes/baby items anywhere but Once Upon A child? I seem to be bothering the employees anytime I bring things in there and its very unwelcoming.
I find that OUAC really cheaps you out of what your clothes are worth (I think they're going rate is like $1 for a name brand sleeper... same price if its new with tags or stained and ripped). I personally think their selling prices are really high too. (However, to buy toys/activity strollers and such, its a great deal to buy, but not to sell!)
I've used Uptown Consignment (One on Queen Street in Southington and one in Rocky Hill) and they are OK... but not fantastic.
If you don't mind the occaisonal drive, I LOVE The Stork Exchange in Old Saybrook/West Brook (its right on the line, I don't remember which town its in). They only take consignment 4 times a year, so you need to plan ahead. And they have a drop system so all you have to do is drop a box of clothes and they call you when its ready (it usualy takes like 4-5 weeks). They have a great sell/turn over rate, they price it fair and you get the biggest chuck that I've seen. Definitely worth the drive a couple times a year (and I use it as an excuse to hit the outlets!)
M: 31 DH: 34
Dx: PCOS, Endo, Uterine Septum
Ovarian Wedge Resection - May 2009
BFP #1 - October 2009 = DS
BFP #2 - June 2011 = DD (Total Surprise!)
Tree nut allergy in DS diagnosed 4/2012. Currently working with EI for SPD and possible ASD.
Thank you for all the suggestions. I will check them all out, especially The Stork Exchange, who doesn't love an excuse to hit the outlets and dinner on the deck at Bills!
