Postpartum Depression

PPD After M/C?

Anybody experience PPD after miscarriage? This didn't just feel like normal sadness; I was in a complete fog for two weeks, couldn't get up in the morning, and had panic attacks. I'm feeling better now, and hoping that it doesn't come back, but geesh....

Re: PPD After M/C?

  • Yes, I absolutley did! I had PPD after I gave birth to my son, but I didn't except it after a miscarriage. I m/c at 10 weeks a few weeks after I started having crazy panic attacks  which quickly turned to depression. I had to start an antidepressant. I'm now pregnant and still dealing with the depression. My doctors told me that pregnancy hormones are a trigger for me to it. It is the up and down and changing hormones that can cause a chemical imbalance. Best of luck to you. Glad you are feeling better.

  • This is totally normal and to be expected. I'm surprised your OB didn't give you info on it. Your body was just about to rush into it's biggest wash of the hormones, and then suddenly, the creator of them wasn't there, and your body got left hanging out to dry. Nature is a jerk.
