DS2 seems "off"... WDYT?

DS2 has had a stuffy nose/cold/congestion for almost 3 weeks.  At 10 days I called the pedi - no appts.  Took him to urgent care b/c we were goign away for the weekend.  He had a low-grade fever (99.4) but they wanted us to see how he did over the weekend.  By Tues he was only taking 1 hr naps (usually 2.5-3 hr) and just still didn't seem like himself.  Took him back to the same doc at urgent care and they put him on antibiotics... said that he prob had a sinus infection and his ears were a little angry looking (he has tubes) so to use the ear drops as well.

It's been almost a week on his meds and he still has a 99.5 fever and just seems tired all the time.  He goes to bed at 730p, gets up between 6-630a, and by 9a he's laying on the floor,  thumb in mouth, looking super sleepy.  If we go anywhere in the AM, he usually falls asleep in the car.

Growth spurt?  Something else? Teeth maybe?  I didn't see or feel any signs or teeth (which is surprising since he turns 2 in 2 weeks and he was an early teether!). I tend to be a worrier so I feel like I'm not always the best judge of these things :(  

Any thoughts/ideas?  I hate to take him to the doc for no reason, but I'm not sure what's up with him!? :(

    I think I'd take him, and have them do a bloodwork panel.  For it to have been going on that long, something has to be off.  

    Growth Spurts and teeth (IME) only last 3-4 days at most -never 3 weeks.

    This is exactly what I was thinking.  Fingers crossed that it's something simple like an iron deficiency or something... he is a horrible eater.  Never a dull moment :(
