I really miss nursing to sleep for naps!

DD rarely naps on the weekends even though she clearly needs to. I nap with her and at this point she's stripped off her clothes and is writhing around with her eyes 3/4 of the way shut. At one point I saw her use her fingers to pull her eyes open. Ughh! Bring on the meltdowns.

  • ohhh no, i'm so sorry!  but hahaha that is a really really funny mental image... Big Smile

since we just weaned too i was SO nervous about napping, but since she only sleeps 9-10 hrs at night, she is exhausted by naptime.  so i guess we're lucky in that regard.  for now..........  ;)

Yeah the nap thing is a recent development. We decided to take a long walk to check out a park in another neighborhood and she fell asleep in the stroller which is funny because we rarely use it.

  • argh. I can feel for you. We still nurse to nap and sleep, but lately she has been done nursing but is not sleeping yet. So the above scenario sounds familiar. She rolls all over, flops around, tries to take her diaper off, gets on me and rides me like a horsie, gives me zurberts on the belly, reads books.... And FINALLY at some point usually gets tired and then tries to nurse again and falls asleep.

I am not sure how I am ever going to get her to learn to fall asleep on her own!

this is exactly how it happened for us, at nighttime!  (she was always too exhausted at naptime)  eventually hopefully your DD will start falling to sleep a little easier like mine did
