Post-partumn hot flashes?

It wasn't uncommon for me to get hot flashes while I was pregnant or nursing. But I haven't nursed in almost three months and I'm still having them at night and throughout the day. Anyone know if this is a common thing? I didn't experience it with E, so I'm not sure if I should talk to my doc about it or not.

Any thoughts?

Re: Post-partumn hot flashes?

  • I had them while I was nursing too.  Three months post weaning seems like it's still in the window for hormones to still be sorting out so I wouldn't freak just yet.

  • I had them for the first year or so, and stopped BFing at 7 months. I generally only got them when DS was having a meltdown (especially in public), or something was going on and I couldn't soothe him.

  • I have always had them off and on all my adult life, but I've always been (hormonally) imbalanced :)
