Parenting after a Loss

When does teething hurt?

At what point did teething seem to hurt your LO? After you saw or felt teeth, or at random points before then?

I noticed a bump last week, and then yesterday felt a scratchy point with my finger.  When might we be in for the worst of it?

Re: When does teething hurt?

  • I'm my experience if you can feel the corner of the tooth coming through then your already past the worst of it. Usually once a little bit of the tooth breaks through, it gives then some relief. Some teeth hurt worse than others though. The molars Jace is cutting now have been the worst so far for him.

  • For the first 2-3 years of life :( But like pp said - once it breaks through it seems to be better. Though this doesn't hold true for molars - each of the 4 cusps seem to be painful.

For child and parents! Molars are tough!

I always just let DD let me know when they hurt the most. It seems like when you can see the bump is when it usually hurts her the most though. GL

  • We haven't gotten to molars yet, but i agree that it seems the worst for k before the tip breaks through.  and the teeth generally come in pairs so if you feel 1 tip, you may have another following behind shortly.
