How often did you feed at 13mos plus? How did you wean? You or baby decide? I am not sure how much longer I want to go but thinking of her quitting makes me sad... (iPad formatting sorry)
I'm in the exact same place right now with my 13 month old. I'm currently nursing in the morning when he wakes up and before bed (occasionally before nap but not all the time). The idea of weaning does make me sad - but he seems to be getting less and less interested - he's too distracted by his older brother's antics, or wanting to read a book, etc. I'm actually hoping he decides when he's done so I don't have to make the decision. Good luck!
I basically weaned down to morning, before nap and before bed...then I cut the before nap, and then the morning. The before bed was the last to go at 14.5 months, and I probably would have kept going but I had gotten pregnant and she had started to lose interest.
I weaned Betsy at 13 months. I offered her a sippy of water at night and told her no boobies. She STTN the night after I did that. During the day, I offered her a snack like yogurt in place of a nursing session. Every couple of days, I dropped another session and replaced it with food. At the end, I only nursed if she was frantic, and our last morning nursing session, I told her this was it, had DH take a pic and we were done.
WIth Carly, she started STTN at 9 months and about 11 months, I didn't offer/didn't refuse. I don't have a pic of our last nursing session because I didn't know that was it. And now, I know that was it, forever.
Momma to 2 sweet girls here on earth and a precious baby boy in heaven
we are still breastfeeding. pretty much since they were 12 months old, our nursing schedule is 1st thing in the morning, before morning nap, before afternoon nap, and before bed. if they woke in the night, i nursed then, too, but we have cut out night wakings and they are sleeping through the night.
i think i am comfortable letting them nurse til they are 2; if they are still nursing then, i think i will wean them. at this point, it seems like they are losing some interest.
part of me is ready to move on, but a lot of me feels like i could happily breastfeed forever. we are also not sure if we will have another, so this may be my only opportunity to breastfeed, and i know i will be very sad when we're done.

At 13 months we were still nursing several times per day (upon waking, once mid-morning, before nap, after nap, once mid-evening, before bed and once over night).
Have not weaned yet (turned 2 on June 1st) but we're down to just a few times per day now, and they're all really quick <10 min (just about half the time upon waking and always before nap & before bed).
I plan to let him decide unless he gets to 3 and is still nursing (but I really doubt he'll still be interested in a year). I have taken some small steps to encourage weaning though, namely I stopped offering to nurse. I nurse him whenever he asks but I never mention it. I guess they call that 'don't offer, don't refuse'. That might cut back on some of her feedings in a really easy way for both of you...
We were still going strong at 13 months. 8 times a day or something--he was a big nurser!
At 15 months we night weaned (really late for that, I realize). Then he started dropping some daytime feedings on his own. He was so busy.
By 16 months we were at morning, nap, and bedtime. We dropped morning and bedtime feedings really easily (I am in school at night so I didn't actually nurse him to sleep every night--he wasn't reliant on nursing to get to sleep, which was a blessing).
We kept up one session a day (the midday nap) until 18 months, and then dropped that one, too. I was the one who encouraged him to drop those last three sessions. It did not seem terribly hard for him. He was just so used to nursing that I don't think he would have given it up on his own. It made me sad to have to encourage him to stop because I was all for him deciding when to wean. But it just felt right to gently encourage him to stop at that point.
After 7 failed IUIs, IVF w/ ICSI worked!!
I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.
Hard to remember for sure at that point. I started weaning at 16 months with it completely finished at 16.5 months. I know at that point it was morning, pre-naps, and pre-bed. Before that we also nursed after naps. I cut the naptime feeding first, then bedtime, and morning was the last one I kept... But it was a quick weaning process.
I quit to gear up for IVF for #2, and he never batted an eye! Guess he was more ready than I was.
We started weaning at 1 yr. but it took some time. I started by eliminating daytime feedings and just stuck to mornings and nighttime. Then cut out morning. It took a while to wean, as she had reached the point where she could ask for it. She first would point to my chest and ask, "This?" Then she moved to pointing to her throat and asking, "This?"

I started introducing cow's milk at meals at a year. Then he nursed before naps and bed and first thing in the morning. We changed up our bedtime routine to be bath, nurse, story, bed so that nursing wasn't the last thing before bed.
I dropped the am feed first because I think he was waking up early for that. Then we just dropped the nursing before naps and would only do it when he wanted to (which slowly decreased). Eventually, the last few months were just before bed and only on my left side (guess he didn't like righty anymore), and at 19 months he just stopped asking for that. I thought there wasn't much milk left until he weaned! Guess he was just super efficient.

And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!
