Poss. early gender with NT scan?

If you had an NT scan, did the tech give you an early idea of what the gender was??

 I've got my NT test week, I've been measuring ahead a week, so I'm curious if they might be able to offer an idea of the gender at 13+ish weeks. DH will not be with me, so I'm kinda worried that I'll be so excited if they can tell me something early (I'm not going to be able to tell them "No, don't tell me!" LOL)  but it will take away from the surprise at our 20wk ultrasound, which he will be accompanying me on. And I don't think I can keep a secret like that for another 7 weeks! Eek!

    We went for our NT scan at 13.5 weeks at a MFM unit. On their high-resolution ultrasound machine, she said she was 99% sure we are having a baby girl. She said she wouldn't go buy paint, but she's never been wrong at this stage. It was fun to have the guess, but we won't know for sure until next Friday. And I've only bought 2( okay 3) pink outfits! Embarrassed

    They guessed twin boys at my nt scan and now we know we are having at least one girl and they still couldn't tell what the other was.

    At our NT, the tech was "more than certain" it was a boy. That boy is now the girl in my siggy.

    It's fun to speculate, but I wouldn't paint the nursery based on a 12 week scan.

    FWIW....they did tell me the correct sex at 16w.

    The tech wouldn't venture a guess, she said from one angle it looked like a boy, the other a girl. We found out at 18 weeks at the a/s.

    Hope they can tell you!

    It's all angle of the dangle at that point, so not terribly accurate.  That being said, we did not have a NT scan, but did have an emergency u/s at 12 w.  The tech said we "had a good chance" he was a boy.  Many ultrasounds later and he's very clearly still a boy.

    I had mine at 13 weeks and the tech tried to look but she said that it would really just be a guess. She guessed boy and we shall see at the a/s if it was right or not but I wouldn't put much stock in it that early.

    We could easily see a genital bud pointing out at our NT scan from the butt shot view--but both boys and girls have them that early. IF you can get a good clear shot of the angle of the dangle relative to the lower spine, at 13+ weeks an experienced tech can be pretty reliable. But that is a big if -- our LO was moving around so much we had a hard time getting anything in profile to get the NT measurements.

    We got a girl guess at our NT scan, and it was correct.  A very good tech, on a very good machine, should be able to give you a pretty accurate guess - but there's really no way of knowing if you have those two things.  I don't think most techs will offer up the information at that time either, you pretty much have to ask them to guess... so if you don't want to know yet (or even have them guess) it probably won't be an issue.

    Our dr guessed girl and was correct.  The big giveaway was he saw 3 lines and showed them to us.  He also pointed out the angle but said it was purely a guess.
