so, i won't be quite 2 under 2, more like 25 months, but close enought. i post on a couple of the other boards regularly so hope you don't mind a random question. i'm due with #2 very soon and i've been struggling with how i'm going to feel after. i know this is a pretty common issue, but i'm just so used to being buds with my little guy, doing everything, loving him so much, etc, it boggles my mind what it'll be like with another. i'm thrilled beyond belief, that's not it, i'm just worried about the transition and spreading my love and attention. any insight from those that have been there already would be great, TIA!
Re: expecting #2....
Do you remember how you felt the moment you saw you DS? For me, I fell in love my second even faster than my first. I knew we were adding another member to our family and was so happy and elated when she came out...instant love, just like DS. I felt the experience was nicer the second time becaue I wasnt nervous about being a mom, or my life changing too much...we were just adding this new baby and she made our lives better. Of course I was nervous about how DS would react, how I would spread my time etc, but you figure it out. The first 2 weeks was rough for DS, so it was rough for me....but things settled and it was easier than I expected. I was TIRED, but life was good
You'll do great. The hardest part for me was the logistics of getting kids in and out of cars, stores, BFing with atoddler etc....but you figure it out and you become a pro in no time.
Its easier said than done, but enjoy your time with DS now, but don't be sad.... just keep in mind that you are adding a new member to your family and that the baby will bring happiness to all...especially your son. My son and daughter are the sweetest together...they hate to be apart.
