Now what?

We've already decided NOT to go the crib tent route. Plus, we were already kind of leaning toward accepting the fact that they'd be out of their cribs fairly soon, so this isn's the worst situation ever or anything like that.
We just don't know how to do this. I've seen the super nanny idea where if they come to your room, just walk 'em right back without saying a word. But do we put a baby gate up in front of their door? Close their door all the way (which we normally don't do but wouldn't be opposed to)?
Eek! Though I guess we're better off doing this now before I go back to work in a month.
Re: one twin JUST found out how to get out of crib...
I would move them to a toddler (or regular) bed at this point. I'd be too scared of them getting hurt trying to climb out of the crib.
As for keeping them in their room, in our house I would probably just let them come into our room, since we have the upstairs gated off and I wouldn't be worried about them getting into anything or falling down the stairs. If you are worried, I think a gate at their door would work.
I agree. It's scary to think of him climbing out and missing his footing or something. And I figure Hannah isn't far behind - they're very much in a monkey-see-monkey-do point right now.
We're going to see if he does it again...though we peeked in and he was trying again, but just got too tired. He takes after me..my mom has the worst horror stories of me doing this and fast. I'd be behind her before she even got out the door!
We're going to just take the rails off the crib for now then go to twin beds fairly soon after that - if he does it again.
We have a 1 story, so while stairs aren't an issue, that means that our entire house is pretty darn accessible - baby proofed, but accessible.
I'm wondering if he'll climb the baby gate...
Ours don't climb out of the crib yet, but our little boy climbs baby gates:) Good luck!! Hopefully you can keep that little monkey contained!

no freaking way would i have 2y/os out of cribs. That's where i put them when i take a shower, etc - i could never feel safe with them out of my sight if they weren't in their cribs. I'd get a crib tent for sure - and that is my plan soon for Grayson who i think will attempt an escape soon.
Griffin never tried to get out - and we kept him in the crib until a few months shy of 3. By then we could trust him to watch a movie in our bed while we showered, etc.... but not at just turning 2 - no way- cribs keep my sanity.
We live parallel lives as always... DS figured it out last week & has climbed out 3 or 4 times. We're totally up in the air about what to do right now... I really am not comfortable with him having the run of the room... and ours sleep w/ doors closed b/c they wake each other up when they cry (which is like 4 out of 7 nights a week still) so we can't even do the gate at the door thing, which I think is what a lot of ppl do.
GL with all of it!
