My DH has me wondering, are we all REALLY supermoms? Have we learned a secret language when reading our LO's cues that our H's have totally missed? Is keeping with an established routine really that hard? lol!
DH stayed home with the kids while I went to the office yesterday. He's home often enough you'd think he could handle them without instructions, but I left them anyways (usual feeding and nap times). I was gone 10-5 and came home to chaos. lol! And even this morning DH got up with Simon while I got up with Joshua, and he was like "so what do I do?" Um, start with a fresh diaper and then a bottle...really?!?! Silly Dads.

Gahh! I know what you mean! Remember the other night where I got to go out? Well, the next morning when I got E out of her crib she was soaked with pee! It's was going through the diaper!! I figured maybe he just forgot to put on one of the night time diapers...no. He didn't even change her diaper before he put her to bed. She had been in the same disgusting diaper from 5pm when I left to 8am the next morning!
I asked him about it and he said he just didn't think about changing her diaper. How do you not think about changing a baby's diaper! That's one of the first thing that pops into my mind when I hear the word baby!
You are lucky! Really.
That would really tick me off if my DH did that. Ugh!
My DH is not a super dad that is for sure. There are some things that just really blow my mind. I tried to have a girls day out 2 Fridays ago, and was gone for about 2 hours. While I was out he texted me 3 times and called 3 times asking me to come home and help him. Why? No real reason. He just didn't want to deal with feeding him. Seriously. It made me cry. Anyhow, I had to cut the time with the girls short and leave during lunch. At least I got my nails done. But really...the kid is 6 months old, he can handle a couple hours with him on his own ffs.
OMG! How??? What??? Really??? ugh!
Yeah, anytime Simon's fussy and DH has him he's like "what does he need?" And I always have to give him the checklist- diaper? bottle? bed? bored? Troubleshoot!
Don't feel like poo.
That is awesome that DH is so great with her!
For the longest time every night we'd go in DD's room to put her to bed and H would walk over to the crib with her and start to put her in it and I was just like "aren't you going to change her first?". He'd whine about it and say that it wakes her up too much (she acts like she's on crack the minute you set her down on the changing table). You know what else wakes up babies? WET DIAPERS!!! Ugh! He does it now, but it sure took a while.
That would have made me cry too! I'm pissed off for you! So sorry. My DH might not do it "right" or logically, but at least he wings it and I can get out. Although sometimes I wish he would call to avoid catastrophe!
Thank you.
*hugs*
I get the 3 bottles, but not 2. DD eats every 3 hours, sometimes she'll stretch it out to 4 hours, sometimes 4.5 if she took a long nap. We only go through 5 bottles (6oz each) in a 24 hour period.
