  I wear those reebok tone shoes.  my butt isn't any firmer, but they're pretty comfy.  I work 12 hr shifts at a nursing home and I never have problems at the end of the day

  I got fitted for walking shoes at a running store right before I got pregnant.  I wore them towards the end of my pregnancy because my feet hurt SO BAD all the time. 

  (ps - I still have a lot of that foot pain in the middle of the night...weird)

  If you walk or run regularly (even if you don't), I'd spend the time to go to a running store to be fitted.  Different people's feet are shaped differently, their arches are different heights, and their weight is distributed differently across their feet when they run.  Having a shoe that accommodates your gait and anatomy is a better way to ensure the comfort of your back, joints, and feet than shooting for a particular brand and make.  I wear Brooks Adrenalines, but, while they're great for my feet and gait, they might be the opposite of what you need!

  I second this. The shoes can be pricey, I write down the make and model (and they change make and model/store). Then I go home and do some research and order off ebay usually. I use Nike Free and got them brand new for around 1/2 the price on ebay. My friend does the same thing orders the discontinued model on runningwarehouse.com so that is another idea, usually they are just a season behind in looks.

  I like the Ryka mary jane sneakers that I have. I wore them when I was pregnant and my feet never hurt.
