WWYD Re: outdoor wedding today

one of our mutual friends is getting married today on an outdoor rooftop. the temp is supposed to be 101, heat index of 108. high humidity. i called the restaurant yesterday, and they said they put a cover up to offer a little shade, but there are no fans or misters. i'm wondering if it's even safe for me to go?

the cocktail hour is inside/outside, and the reception is inside. i'm so hot all the time, and my feet are basically in a permanent state of swollen and puffy. i'm thinking i should suck it up, sit inside for the ceremony (ie miss it) and then just stay for dinner and scram with DH. WWYD?

    I think your plan sounds great! With all the heat advisorys right now I would do the same thing.

    I agree.  No one, especially a pregnant woman should be out in that heat.  I'm surprised they don't have a backup plan for inclimant weather.

    My wedding day was on a hot hot hot day too, 102 I think.  I had 7 pg ladies at the wedding in different stages.  It was hot even inside, so I understood when some people backed out.  It was too hot to be safe.  We did however, have fans, shade, water, frozen drinks and snacks.

    I think your plan sounds VERY reasonable.  Plus it is hard to keep track of who all you saw on that day anyway; it is a very overwhelming day even without the heat.  My feeling is that you won't be the only one hiding out inside Wink
