c/s mommas and exercise

ok, so who's exercised and done sit-ups after their c/s? Did you have any pain at the incision site afterwards? I normally only have pain on my incision site when there is a sharp impact but it definitely ached yesterday after doing sit-ups for the first time since being pregnant.I do have a OB visit (with a new OB) on Tuesday morning, so I plan to ask about it then, I'm just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

  • If you have diastasis recti, sit-ups can make it worse just FYI.

I've never had incision pain from exercising.

This! I didn't know I had it until a pp check-up and was told to lay off isolated ab work (i.e. crunches, sit-ups, etc.) until at least 6 months pp. I'd ask at your appt to see if you have it and for sure mention the discomfort you're having.

I'm starting PT soon for this!

OP - I started working out 7-8 months after DS1 was born, and didn't have any unusual pain besides muscle soreness. Pilates might be a good solution, too, but definitely consider talking to a doctor about it.
