All right, you baby name experts. I need help. (Not pregnant....have some time to think about this).
My DH is adopted, and he is Kuwaiti. He was given an American first name and to honor his Middle Eastern heritage, he was given the middle name Khalid. He would like to continue this tradition, but I don't know any Middle Eastern names!
Anyone have any Middle Eastern names that you like for boys and girls?
The first names that we like:
Charlotte, Ramona, or Hannah for a girl
Wyatt, Jordan, or Henry for a boy
Are these names too "traditional" to include the Middle Easter heritage?

I actually like Khalid (immortal), but if you'd prefer a different name I like Khalil (meaning- close friend), Amani (meaning-security or trust), Xavier(meaning-bright in Arabic)
For girls I like
Aanisah/Anisa( meaning-good natured), Amira (meaning-princess),Farah (meaning-joy), Yasmin (meaning-friendliness)
I love Leila (also spelled Laela and Layla- I think they're all legit- meaning dark beauty) and Amira (princess in Arabic and speech in Hebrew). I have a cousin named Sanaa (mountaintop, splendid, brilliant). I also like Amina. Jasmine is also nice.
I really like Old Testament Bible names, most of them would be also be an appropriate nod to Middle Eastern heritage.
I am now totally hooked on Charlotte Sahar ... WDYT? Too much?
Might just go with Khalid as a middle name, to honor DH. Wyatt Khalid and Jordan Khalid sound pretty good to me...Henry might have to get thrown out of the running.
Now, if I could just get KTFU so that I can use them some day!!!!!!!!!

I love Arabic girls names!
Especially: Layla (dark/night), Amira (princess), Amina (pronounced Ameena but don't know the meaning) and Noor (light) but you can make it Nora if you want to Americanize it a bit.
Don't have any Arabic boys names that I am particularly fond of but I have some male Arab friends named:
Tariq (NOT pronounced Tar-eek. all the vowels are short. Tar-ik.)
Osman- pronounced Oss-mann
Ahmed- Don't throw a "kh" sound in there, its ah-med not akh-med.
Congrats on your baby and love that you are incorporating his/her Kuwaiti heritage!
Girls:
Jenna, Yasmine, Leila, Maneera
Boys:
Terek, Omar
Just so you know, although Ramona is an English name, I see it first as a Spanish name. The rest are all pretty typically American (although Charlotte is originally French, I don't think of it first as a French name.)
As for Middle Eastern names, I don't think I can help. As you know, there are many different countries in the Middle East, as well as many different cultures (many of which are enemies of each other).
Now I could be wrong, but IMO, saying that you need a "Middle Eastern" name is like saying you need a "European" name, because your ancestor is from Ireland. Then if someone gives you a list of Geman names, they are European, but they won't honor your ancestor's Irish heritage.
I don't know much about Kuwait, so I don't know what would be most appropriate. But here's a list of many different cultures from www . BehindTheName . com You can find the one that's closest to your DH's heritage and it will give you a list of names from that culture.
