Sorry I've been MIA, things have been pretty crazy here.
We went in last Friday, the 15th, for my c-section and Max was born at 12:57pm weighing 8lbs 11oz and was 19 1/4 inches long. My hospital stay and recovery from the c/s were very normal. I was actually shocked by how easy my c/s recovery was. Once I was out of the hospital I didn't even really have any pain.
Max is amazing! He is so happy and animated. I just love looking at him especially when he is sleeping and running through his faces (happy, sad, frown, cute little mouth BLOCKED EXPRESSION. He already laughs at me and gives me full open mouthed grins. He's also an amazing sleeper. Knock on wood but we really lucked out in the baby dept. Don't get me started on what a cutie he is, because well he's the cutest baby ever...LOL!
The night we got home from the hospital I started to get sick and it progressed from there. By the following evening I was really sick and my primary doc sent me to the ER. I was diagnosed with a UTI, given antibiotics and anti nausea meds and sent on my way. I got worse on Wed and Thurs at which point my OB sent me back to the ER where I was told I didn't have a UTI, but a surgical infection. Then 2 hrs later I was told I didn't have an infection at all and they don't know what's wrong with me. So I was readmitted to the hospital on Thurs and placed in isolation, so I couldn't even see my little guy, but I know they were just doing what they thought was best. As of this morning they still don't know what's wrong with me, but they have lifted the isolation order and I am drinking fluids by mouth for the first time in 5 days and just seeing how that goes. I'm really hoping that whatever this mysterious illness is it will go away as quickly as it appeared and I can get back to my little boy and husband.
Thank you all for the T&Ps and well wishes. It means so much to me to know that I have so many people rooting for me to get better.
I will post pics once I am home and can download the pics from my camera.
Re: Max's Birth Story
So glad Max is here, healthy, and PERFECT!
Sorry you're back in the hospital. I hope they figure things out very soon and that you are home before you know it.
FYI - This may have no relevance to your situation, but just in case... After my c/s with the boys I became very ill. Turns out I had remaining placental tissue that had become necrotic. I had to have an emergency D&C to get it out. Might be worth asking about.
