weird q: has anyone tasted their own? i made ds's oatmeal with bm today, and when i was feeding him, he got some on his arm, without even thinking i wiped it off with my finger then licked it, it took a second to register, then i was like eh, well. lol! the thought of it before really grossed me out, and i'm not gonna just chow down on cookies and a tall glass of bm now, i just wondered if anyone else got brave and tried it!

    Of course we did! Not drinking it, but tasted it in the beginning. Now she's on formula (WHICH IS AWFUL) it has a terrible aftertaste. I don't know how she eats it. Ha. But I taste everything she eats before I feed it to her. Not sure why. I just do! (By the way baby food Ham and Beef are terrible too.)

    I never have!  I don't know why.  I don't think it's weird if you have, but I just have never had the urge (or the accidental opportunity) to try it!

    formula smells pretty icky, cant imagine how it tastes! and those pureed meat baby foods- ew. haha. reminds me of this stuff my dh loves on sandwiches, looks like dog food to me!

    Yep, to test freshness exc.  I dont gulp it down, but a bit on the tongue.

    LOL! I was forced to taste my own BM while traveling when my DS was 6wks old, we were in Narita Airport in Tokyo and when we were going through security, they told me if I didn't taste it to make sure it wasn't explosive material, they'd toss it out. I pointed to my boobs and was like, 'It's BREASTMILK. I'm NOT tasting it!!' They were about to take the bottle from me when I took a swig to satisfy them. It wasn't bad. I'd have done anything to save that precious breastmilk, it was hard for me to pump anything at that time.

    Yep. DH and I both have. To test freshness and also out of curiosity. I don't find it to be such a gross thing to taste it, but no, you won't find me gulping it down with my cookies either. Stick out tongue

    Yep....I forget daily that planting a big ol' kiss on her lips after she eats usually results in BM on my lips.haha.

    I tried it out of curiosity.  Tastes like cantaloupe juice.  Sampling a drop it didn't gross me out at all, but I wouldn't want to drink it.
