I am having sleep issues...me not LO

So LO has been sleeping on a floor bed for a long time now in her room. I would just sleep with her in her room when she woke up (around 10 or 11) I was still awake normally snuggeling with DH. So now she is sleeping till around 2 by herself and I can't sleep. I use white noise in her room and my DH snores. I was awake till she needed me last night. I don't know what I am going to do. I was going in and sleeping with her but I was only waking her up. I want to fall alsleep but I can't!!!!

  • Would white noise in your room help?  Or perhaps you could go to sleep before DH so that you fall asleep before he starts snoring?

  • What do you feel when you are awake, but can't sleep?  Anxious? Tired? Worried? Nothing??

My DH also snores and I find I fall asleep much better when I go to bed before he does.  Anxiety and stress also have me wide awake some nights.  I have been taking Hylands calming tablets or Insomnia tablets and those help a lot...not sure if you can take them while nursing though.

  • How long has she been sleeping later?  Maybe you just can't sleep because you haven't adjusted...you're just laying there waiting for her to wake up any moment.  I'm finally having success with nightweaning and DS is just starting to sleep longer.  Last night I had a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep because I'm not used to getting more than two hours undisturbed snooze time.  I kept popping up and looking at the monitor and the clock.

  • I am going to agree with others who go to bed before DH.  My DH snores as well, and I try most nights to go to sleep before him :) This is easier in our household, given DH works until 10 or so.

i would agree with this... i had taken me a LONG time to get used to DD sleeping longer stretches.  longer than you think it should, and i'm still not sleeping soundly many months after night weaning.

my mom keeps reminding me this is why she's still such a bad sleeper!  i think most moms always sleep with one ear open, so to speak.  :)

yes go to bed before DH and get some white noise (we have a fan we always turn on).  you can also get those Breath Right nose strips and see if they help him, although the help is usually short-lived.  good luck!

  • I have found that some good exercise always makes a difference in me being able to fall asleep.
