I wondered what you pay someone to watch your baby while you go out at night, etc.  Nothing full time but just once in awhile...  I'm going to have a college student watch my 2 month old and wondered how much we should pay her.  We'll probably be gone from like 5:00-10:00.  TIA - I'm new around here so have no idea what she would expect!

    The going rate is usually 10 an hour for one and maybe more for more than one. I can't imagine a college girl wanting to give up a weekend night for only 5 an hour but maybe you are luckier than I :-)

    woah i disagree with the $10... I am a teacher and babysit, and I charge $15-$20. At least 15 for a weekend! Good luck :)

    I also sit and I charge $15/hr minimum depending on the number of children.  I think that is the minimum going rate around here for an experienced sitter.  You might be able to pay ~$10 for a high school student though.

    I have two go-to babysitters. Both get $10/hr (what they asked for).

    One is an elementary ed teacher and the other is a SAHM.
