Hair Loss (or lack thereof) during pregnancy

Hi Ladies!

Every pregnancy resource I've  read says that while you are pregnant you stop losing your hair.   

I usually shed like a dog and am continuing to do so.  I'm not at all worried I'm going bald, just assumed I guess by this point that I would see a difference in the amount of hair loss.  No big deal really, just curious what others have experienced. 

What has your hair loss (or lack thereof) during pregnancy been like?

    Jewlz I have not stopped shedding either.  My hair does seem to have more body, but at the same time I am still seeing the loss.

    Mine seems to be shedding pretty bad.  Even my hair stylist commented on it when she washed my hair.  I have a lot of hair so hopefully I won't go bald.

    I've been told that when you're pg you hold on to all the hair you normally shed, and that after you give birth you lose all that hair, plus your normal amount of hair. 

    I'm sure it's not that black and white for everyone.  My hair seems a little thicker, but not drastically so.

    TTC in 2008. Stage II/III endo, Hashimotos hypothyroid, low morph (3%).
    2 cycles Clomid/Ovidrel/TI/Crinone=BFN.
    IUI #1 - 4 Follistim/Ovidrel/IUI/Crinone = BFN.
    IVF #1 - Antagonist w/ ICSI 4/10. 17 retrieved, 5DT of 2, BFN :(
    IVF #2 - Long Lupron w/ ICSI 6/10. 15 retrieved, 3DT of 2, BFFN!!
    Lap 7/21/10
    IVF #3 - Clomid/Antagonist w/ ICSI 10/10. 14 retreived, 3DT of 3, BFP 10/20 but m/c. No HB 11/15/10 - D&C 11/17/10.
    FET - 2 blasts, 1 survived the thaw. Transfer 2/19. Beta #1 3/1 375, Beta #2 3/3 885, Beta #3 3/8 4261, Beta #4 3/11 9005. U/S 3/8 1 sac 1 yolk, U/S 3/16 1 heartbeat 114bpm!

     

    James born Oct. 24th 2011 via c-section at 38 weeks!

    i'm still shedding like normal (normal = pre-pregnancy).

    it may have something to do with the fact that i am no longer blow-drying my hair b/c it's so hot! but i haven't noticed that i'm shedding any less in pregnancy.

    My hair loss has gotten worse, especially in the last few weeks. I have handfuls of it when I'm shampooing my hair. Yuck!

    I fall into the no hair loss camp.  I'm not shedding at all.  With my other pg, I had the same thing, and then after the babes were born I shed more than I had ever before in my life. 

    Guess it's another area where the hormones can affect everyone differently.

    It is norm for me to lose tons of hair and I shed like crazy in the shower. I have noticed since being pg its not nearly as much.  I'm kinda scared for what it will be like after I have the baby though.
    IUI#1 - 05/20/08 = BFP! M/C - 14 weeks :( baby girl
    IUI#2 - 01/07/09 = BFP!!! Twins!! Pre-term labor 20 weeks :( lost twin girls
    IUI#3 - 1/31/10 = BFP!!!! M/C - 8wks :( again
    IVF #1 - 7/2010 = c/p
    FET - 9/2010 = another c/p
    IUI#4 - 2/14/11 = BFP!

    I think it has remained the same. But I haven't payed much attention honestly. I'm still cleaning lots of hair.

    Didn't/haven't loss much during pregnancy, but afterwards, holy moley!  I don't know how I didn't go bald!  It came out in clumps.  And then the regrowth was just so much fun. ahhh, the joys...

    I haven't noticed much change in the amount of hair I'm shedding.  I think I still lose about the same amount!

    I'm going to have a serious 'fro if I stop shedding hair.  I do not need my hair to be any thicker than it is right now.

    TTC since 1/2010 - Dx with Stage IV Endo
    11/10 - 100mg Clomid + trigger + IUI + Estradiol + Progesterone = BFN
    12/10 - Unmedicated cycle due to RE not doing treatments in December = BFN
    1/11 - 100mg Clomid + trigger + IUI + Estradiol + Progesterone = BFN
    2/11 - Same sh!t, different month = IUI cancelled due to no response = BFN
