When DH and I went for the a/s we had the tech put a picture of the baby's "goods" with a note about the gender in an envelope. We've had it for over a month. We weren't sure whether we were going to stay team green or open the envelope.
I've kind of been thinking, it's going to be a surprise whenever we find out, whether it's at an u/s, at the birth, etc. I think it could be cool to make a little event out of it...we're thinking we're going to dinner and do it tonight.
I'm excited but also nervous b/c finding out the gender just takes you one more step closer to getting attached...does anyone know what I mean?

Re: I Think We're Opening The Envelope...
Wow, I can't believe you've resisted looking at the envelope for over a month! I think I would have teared that sucker open as soon as I got home, and we plan on keeping it a surprise until delivery. It's been really hard not finding out...
I say if you want to know, go for it! It's all on how you want to experience things
This! I think the experience will be special whether its at the birth or over an intimate dinner. Enjoy your surprise!

We found out at 14 weeks, so we are definitely not patient:) You are right, it will be a nice surprise no matter when you find out. I think it sounds like a good plan.
And I am so, so excited to find out what it is!!!! You're going to post right away, right?
I get what you mean-it makes it even more real, and for someone with IF 'wounds' who always feel like something will go wrong, it can be hard. But, I say go for it, it will make it all the more real to you and hopefully give you one more thing to enjoy. You've had a rough week, you deserve some 'happy' news!
I've always said-having a baby is surprise enough, no need to wait to find out
