Also a fan of the "I couldn't be assured that adoptive parents would give my child a good life" line.

Give your kid up for adoption or don't, I don't care but don't be a twat about it. I'd be willing to bet that the great majority of adoptive parents don't jump through all those hoops with the intention of being shiity parents.
