Re: POLL Do you know your FB friend number?

  • I wonder about this sometimes. I'm sure people have deleted me and that's totally fine by me.  I've done it to other people!  But I'd have no way to keep track since I never note the number.

the past few times i know of people defriending me...it's because they did it in the middle of/right after a point at which i offended them in some way. (one it was by checking her facts. I know, I'm a heinous ***.)

  • I don't know my #, but have a rough idea.  It can change without people specifically defriending you, like if they give up their FB account altogether which has happened a few times.  I know I've been defriended when I see that person comment on someone else's status, and then realize they haven't shown up in my news feed for quite some time!
  • Hehe, funny you should mention this as I'm thinking of cleaning up my friends list. So many peeps from HS or college that I was more of an acquaintance with than a friend so they need to be deleted...and then of course, I start to get a little uneasy about just being on there.
  • I have a general idea but I don't know the exact number right off.  Unless someone just friended me then I usually glance at it.  Ditto pp -I usually only notice I've been defriended if I realize I haven't seen something from that person in a while.  Then I may check their wall to see if they're still online and realize A) they're no longer there or B) have defriended me.   Honestly, being defriended rarely bothers me very much if at all b/c they're usually not people I interact w/very much.

I should really clean up my friend list, in fact.  I have a few people who went to the same highschool as me that friended me and when I accepted their request and looked at their page I realized that I don't actually know them!  I don't know if they thought I was somebody else or were just friending everyone from the school but it's kind of weird that I'm still friends w/them, right?  lol

I need to clean up my list too.  I am sort of selective though -- many a high school classmate has tried to friend me only to be met with "no" from me.  I grew up in a small town and many former classmates are not people I want to see all my status updates.  I just don't want/need to share that much of my life with them. And vice versa. ;)

The only person who "unfriended" me that I noticed was my BFF.  I was absolutely grief stricken until I realized she quit entirely and was no longer friends with any of our former mutual friends.  :(

  • I need another option: I have no clue, could be 50, could be 100, could be more.

no idea at all.  it's in the upper 400s, but that's about all I can tell you.  I once had an app that told you if someone deleted you, but I decided it didn't really matter.
