Gabe is just 6.5 weeks old. For the last few days he's been drooling and chewing on his arm... I didn't think much of it because he is just SIX WEEKS old! Well, we went for his hearing test today and he wasn't too thrilled with it and cried. A lot. Like mouth wide open, tongue curled up and tears pouring down his face. While he was crying, the doctor noticed the white spots on his lower gums and said "oh - he's teething!" I'm hoping she's wrong and those spots don't mean that he'll have teeth soon. He doesn't seem to be in any discomfort or fussier than normal, so maybe it'll just take a looong time for the teeth to poke through.
My baby is growing up WAY too quickly...

Re: My baby is teething. WTF?!
I thought the same thing when my oldest was just a few months old. She had the same little white spots on her gums. I even wrote in her baby book that I thought she had cut a tooth at a really early age.
Drooling and chewing on hands is normal developmentally for this age, and doesn't mean teething.
As for the white spots, my daughters went away and would come and go. But they were not teeth. Not sure what they were! She didn't cut her first tooth until she was 7 months old.
