It's been a while since I've carried around a diaper bag. LO1 is 2.5 and has been PT for a while, so I usually don't take anything for her anymore. Trying to decide if I need a full size diaper bag again or if I can get away with a large purse.
What's in your diaper bag? And if your a second time mom is your diaper bag smaller or larger than the first go round? Thanks in advance!
Re: What's in your diaper bag? (Especially mom's of 2+)
We cloth diaper, so the diapering accessories may or may not apply to you:
- Diapers
- Travel Wet Bag
- Wipes/Solution
- Paci/Wubbanub
- Burp cloth
- Extra change of clothes
- 1 or 2 small Books
- Hand sanitizer
- My wallet
- Chapstick
- Nursing cover
- Receiving blanket
- Maybe a toy
i use disposibles and i usually have at least 6-10 diapers with me at any given time.
wipes
soother
a nursing cover,
2--3 extra outfits (leaky pooper)
diaper cream
nursing pads
extra blanket
a few toys
hand sanitizer
socks
wallet
phone
keys
sunscreen
bottle of water for me
I have a 4.5 year old so there's not much I carry for her, but my diaper bag this time around is much bigger lol.
For DD 1- I keep snacks, juice box, some Littlest Pet shops, a book, and paper/pen (if she gets bored at restaurant/wherever else).
For DD 2- I try to be as prepared as possible:
- 4 diapers/pack of wipes
-Diaper rash cream/baby powder/lotion
-Two extra outfits/onesies/socks/Sun hate/Sunglasses/bibs
-Toys/books/teether/pacifiers
- I have a formula container that holds 3 bottles worth of formula, so I take three bottles with water already in them.
-Her manicure set/safety set
-Zantac/Tylenol/Gas drops/Gripe water
I think that's about it lol.

DD1 is still not PT'd, so right now:
DD1's diapers
DD2's diapers (many more of these)
wipes in travel size container
change pad
nursing cover
burp cloth
my big water bottle
DD1's water bottle
snacks for DD1
diaper cream
bandaids, chapstick, wallet, brush, car keys, cell phone (stuff that'd normally go in my purse...not that I really remember what it was like to have a purse just for me, lol)
AND once D1 is PT'd, I will change out her diapers and substitute 18 changes of clothes, lol.
I have a 5yo, 2yo and now a nb, and my 2yo and nb are cloth diapered.
- 1 cloth diaper for each
- 3 disposable diapers for each
- wipes
- wetbag
- extra onesie for the baby
- bf'ing cover
- hand sanitizer
- a little "first aid" kit with band aids and motrin for mom lol
- motrin for baby
- my moby wrap for the lo right now
- wallet, keys, lip gloss for mommy, along with some rubber band for pony tails for mommy and dd1.
I use a Ju Ju Be BFF bag, and I actually still have a lot of room left in it.
DS is not potty trained yet. I use a Vera Bradley diaper bag.
-2 diapers for DS
-3 diapers for DD
-travel size wipes
-disposable bags (for dirty diapers and/or clothes that get wet or dirty)
-disposable changing pads
-nursing cover
-1 paci
-1 toy for DD
-2 books for DS and a few small toys
-band-aids, travel sized sunblock, hand sanitizer, kleenex
-small blanket
-change of clothes for DD (and DS if we are going to be gone all day)
-sippy cup and snack cup for DS
-wallet, keys, phone, and sometimes my camera and ipod
I use a LL Bean back pack for a diaper bag, and it works great for all day outings and works great for having both hands free, and keeps me balanced with LO in the front carrier....
Changing pad, that folds up and holds diapers, wipes and small bags for throwing away diapers (those are a life saver)
Bottles with water for each feeding, and formula containers with enough feedings for the day.
pacifier wipes. ( makes it great for cleaning bottle nipples too)
a pouch with qtips, tylenol, thermometer, sunscreen, vaseline, diaper rash cream, brush, extra formula scoop.
extra clothes, hat for the sun, light blanket.
all day outings...
bug net for stroller, or car seat.
bottled water
&&& of course all of my personal needs, wallet, keys, tampons, advil
this is my 1st child, and we are working on the 2nd so im not sure if ill carry more or less yet. GL
I have a 2 yo and a 2 month old, so maybe I can help a bit
I have an Eddie Bauer weekender bag that I love, it has held up for over a year which is amazing since I am so rough on bags, plus it's big enough for everything I need!
in my bag:
2 changes of clothes (One for drew and one for Alynn)
A tank top for me
burp rag
6 size 1 diapers, 6 size diapers
wipes
changing pad
a bag of snacks
a rattle
probably 5 toy cars
2 books
an empty bottle
a can of formula
a water bottle
a binky
a sippy cup
sunblock
and then all of my stuff: Wallet, sunglasses, chap stick, cell phone, hand sanitizer, my water bottle, and glucose tablets. When I was ku I could put my insulin in the thermal pouches that bag has which is one of the main reasons we got it.
Also if we are going to the park, a base ball game or some other place where I will want to take her out of the car seat but not in the stroller I put my moby wrap in the bag as well!

We have twins, so ours are the same age. Not sure how helpful this will be, but here goes!
Approximately 10 diapers (I'm paranoid of running out), 4 bottles, 1 can of formula, 1 bottle of water, 4 toys, 4 changes of clothes, 2 bibs, 2 burp cloths, wipes, changing pad, bag for dirty clothes, and diaper rash cream.
