too many cribs to choose from!

I've spent way too much time researching cribs. I go back and forth between brands, but wanted to know if anyone has anything bad to say about Stork Craft? It seems affordable and looks nice... Ultimate goal is safety, but beyond that, was looking for under $250 recommendations of any sort would be appreciated---or even websites thanks!

  • The best baby related purchase I have made so far was the Baby Bargains book.  Rates companies/products in just about every baby-related category possible.  Gives them an A-F rating (like a report card).

As for cribs, they give Stork Craft a C-.

If you're looking to stay reasonable price-wise, they recommend the Graco Lauren or Graco Sarah.

I would seriously consider buying this book, especially if it is your first baby - I have no clue what brands to look at or stay away from, and this has been a great help.

  • I have a Stork Craft Convertible bed:

It's not bad.  Not my first choice (as I perfer the "prettier" styles), but it was a gift from my MIL.  As far as a bed, it was easy to assemble, and I've done all the conversions myself without the manual.  I do however, like the fact that it has been almost impossible for my DD to get out of it.

I have the Graco Lauren collection. We put it together a few days ago and its very sturdy, I can sit on it and it doesnt budge. We got ours from baby depot for 150 added the changing table that matches and still stay under 250. I really love the way this one looks

  • We also have the Graco Lauren. I love it! It's very sturdy and has a great look that will suit the girls as they grow and we convert it. I bought ours online at Wal-mart. The crib is $150. There's also a bundle which includes crib, mattress and changing table for $250. I'll likely buy the same crib after this baby arrives since the girls will be using theirs as toddler beds.
