We've decided on the name Reece/Rhys for our son! I prefer the original spelling of Rhys, but our last name is very difficult to spell and pronounce (It's Slavic- think lots of consonants) and so my husband would prefer Reece since it's easily recognized.
Thoughts/Opinions? Are both acceptable?
Re: Reece vs. Rhys
Rhys is a better spelling for a boy. If I see Reece I tend to think girl. I really like the name Rhys for a boy, good choice.
Rhys is the correct spelling of the name, so go with this one.
Reece just makes me think of peanut butter and chocolate!

Oh my....I can't believe I had to ask that
Thank you.
Agreed. I think that would be mispronounced and confusing to most people.

For a boy Rhys! Reece/Reese is all girl to me.
My daughter is Reese and her name gets misspelled a lot and they put Reece.
So with that in mind I vote for Rhys - the Welsh spelling for a boy.
That's good to know. I do really like the name so I guess out of the 3 spellings, I'd pick Rhys. I have to admit, they 1st time I saw it (a friend of mine named her son that), I thought, she named him Rice? lol
This! Rhys=boy, Reese=girl, Reece=candy
Yes. tradition isn't always the best IMO. I like the name, what about Reese. A guy I went to high school with was named Reese. The 's' doesn't seem as girly as the 'c' to me for some reason.
This. It seems to be popping up more and more, and frankly it is only 4 letters so it isn't that hard to figure out.
