Are there any uninsured moms-to-be out there? Just wondering how/ when you contact the hospital to find out how much it will cost. I've tried contacting my hospital and I am getting now where.
You might try asking at your OB's office. I don't know how it works for uninsured expectant mothers, but when I went in for my first prenatal visit, I was given a printout of my estimated responsibilities for all my prenatal care and the delivery. I'll be delivering at Brandon Regional, and they say that you have to have everything paid for by your six or seventh month, so basically you get put on a payment plan with your doctor's office. You'll end up getting extra bills for the pediatrician or if you need to stay in the hospital longer and such, but I don't think they really know how much that will add up to until later.

Hey there, I know morton plant when you go on a tour tells you a little bit on how to financially prepare for it. They basically cut you a discount if you pay ahead too...if no payment ahead, no deal. Not sure where you live, but if you plan on delivering at a Baycare hospital you do have options.
