Ugh, DH and I just got in a stupid tiff over baby names. I suggest 10 or 20 and he doesn't like any of them, he suggests one that I veto and he's upset that I don't like it. Elric. Really? Good thing we have 34 more weeks to come to an agreement!
With DS, we came to an agreement early on, then changed our girl name, then our boy name, then our boy name again. We went into the delivery room uncertain about what our boy name would be! Already I'm panicking- if it's another boy, I don't know if there is another boy name I like!
DH and I have a hard time agreeing on names too. We went into the hospital with no name picked out for DD #1. After 24 hours of labor and an emergency c-section I finally gave into the name that he liked. I was laying on the table with my arms strapped down having just had the c-section and said "Lea isn't so bad"...LOL.
Really hoping this one is a boy because we have already used up the only 2 girl names we've been able to agree on in 7 years.
lol, just try to come to an understanding, and you still have a lot of time to persuade him :P or agree on something you both really like
I was the same, I had 60 suggestions and all were shut down, until we both found names we loved although, let me tell you I love Sophia, but Ava... melts my heart
My sister has had 3 babies (with a VERY stubborn H) and this is the advice she's given me: Wait until the very end to discuss names. This will give your DH less time to decide he hates all of your suggestions. Hold your favorites close until like a few days before birth. Also, have a couple of names picked out in case the baby doesn't come out looking like your original choice.
Elric? It sounds like a character from Lord of the Rings.
I picked our potential daughter's name out years ago and luckily my husband loves it. It was MUCH hard to to decide on a boy name. He was suggesting horrible things like "Alphonso". (And being serious about them.) We finally agreed on something right before I found out I was pregnant, which is just another one of those random things that leads me to believe I'm having a boy.
Re: can't agree on baby names
If SO pulls out lotr I intend on naming this baby on my own.
