I am really excited about a possible money making opportunity! I LOVE to bake and wanted to look into our local farmer's market to sell baked goods. There are 2 in my area and one said that it's pretty competitive to get in as a vendor but I could apply in the winter for next season.
Then I looked into a smaller farmer's market and the lady I talked to said "what kind of baked goods? Our baked goods lady isn't doing it this year and we need someone now." I was so excited but it seems like a lot of work to get started.
She said I need liability insurance (I left a message with my Allstate agent) and I also need my kitchen inspected by the Dept. of Health (who told me I need a permit first). It also costs about $300 for the season to be a vendor and I need to get my own table/tent/etc.
I am looking into everything and have my fingers crossed. Anyone have experience with any of these things?
