bali stretch

I am a longtime lurker, first time poster.  I'm a momma to 3, soon to be 4 (7 more weeks!).  With my previous kiddos I used a sling and an ergo.  This time around I wanted to try something different and have been investigating wraps.  I originally planned on getting a moby and a woven of some sort. Ended up at a store today to look at some different options and ended up falling in love with a bali stretch and bought it.  So here's my question - can I basically use the bali stretch in the same way that I would use a moby?  I originally thought that the moby would be better for a little baby because of the stretchiness of the fabric but after trying the bali I'm not so sure that it wouldn't work just fine.  Is there a strong benefit to getting the moby as well?

Re: bali stretch

  • First of all, I'm totally jealous that you have a local store that carries those.

I've never actually used a Bali Stretch, but I've heard lots about them and I used to have their "Breeze" wrap.  As I understand it, the little bit of stretch should make it a wonderfully snuggly newborn carrier, but it shouldn't be quite as warm as the Moby.  Additionally, they say that since it has such a small amount of stretch you could do a back carry further down the line if you're so inclined.

Moby's are sold all over the place now, too.  On the off chance that you aren't perfectly satisfied with the Stretch you could use it as an excuse to make a trip to Target with the new bean.

  • Pretty much everything Sinafey said :)

I have both and the Bali is thinner, less stretchy and softer- feels more like a worn tee shirt.
