Pregnant after IF

Update (long)

I saw the Peri today and both babies are measuring exactly on track -- 1lb 8oz for Baby A, 1lb 9oz for Baby B, and fluid looks excellent. I had the doctor say it one more time (that things looked excellent) b/c I never get to hear it!!! It made me feel so good b/c everyone has been on me about my weight/eating habits. I would feel like I won the Olympics if these babies were born close to term and over 5 lbs.

About breastfeeding....my OB gave me the suggestion to stay on Lovenox while I breast feed, then start coumadin for 6 months - 1 year. I can't believe I'll be feeling the effects from OHSS nearly 2.5 years later from when I did IVF. Whenever someone posts on IF about OHSS, I always want to scream "be careful!!!!" but know my specific problems are rare. And my OB rocks -- she said she will help me personally get comfortable w/ nursing Reese, while pumping for Ben at the same time. She said having Reese nurse will help keep my supply for Ben (if I have a supply at all -- I'm praying about this).

That's my story -- just continuing my weekly appointments....and getting ready for our next round of Stanford appointments in August. I really want to talk w/ the MFM there about how many people they are planning on having in the delivery room (whether we deliver vaginally or C-section). They are a teaching hospital....and since Ben's condition is so rare, I don't know if I should prepare myself for an audience. My MFM joked I should charge admission to the med students and put it towards their college funds.

Sorry for such long posts!

  • So happy about good news! And you should totally charge admission:) I guess one upside of infertility is that we are so used to our va-jay-jays being exposed that we don't even blink at multiple, um, spectators...

  • There was always a *** load of Drs in my room during my stay there...until the delivery; but I know I am not normal and I am a huge Standford hater.  There is only one MFM there I liked during my ordeal BUT they do have the best NICU so it is what it is.

I am SO glad everything is looking good with you and the babies though - great news!  I joked with Dr. Z last time I talked to him that he specializes in b/g twins because I know 4 people that went to him and that is what they ended up with...crazy.
