Beta Doubled ...

Just took closer to 72 hours rather than 48.  My RE says it's normal to take up to 72 but I'm FREAKING out!!  It's okay, right??? It doubled ... that's all that matters, right?? Please tell me it's ok! :)

Beta 7/18/11 - 149!!! Beta 7/21/11 - 311 Beta 7/28/11 - 2,000 8/5/11 - Empty Sac 8/8/11 - There's a yolk sac and maybe a heartbeat 8/12/11 - Fetal pole, yolk sac, heartbeat 8/18/11 - Baby looks GREAT!

    Congrats your pregnant! I wouldnt worry, even though I know thats impossible. I think even if your beta doubled closer to 48 hours you would still be worried, its just in our nature.

    Good luck! Are you going to do another beta or do you have an appointment scheduled for an u/s?

    Congrats on the doubling!! I totally understand if you are a little freaked out but wait and see what your next beta does. When are you getting another blood draw? I know this is easier said than done, but try to relax. (I am still working on that myself)

    Me: 33, Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, DOR (AMH .35), DH: 38, Borderline low morph
    5/09- Off BCP, 5/09-9/09- No period, 9/09-9/10- Lots of Tests & accupuncture
    10/10 and 11/10- 2 rounds of Menopur + TI= BFNS
    12/10-IUI #1 Menopur = BFN
    1/11- IUI #2 Menopur = BFP, 2/11 missed mc at 9 weeks, D&C
    5/11- Operative Hysteroscopy to remove uterine septum
    6/11- IUI #3 Menopur = BFP, 8/11 missed mc at 11 weeks, D&C
    1/12- Lap and Operative Hysteroscopy to remove uterine septum (again) & scar tissue
    2/12- Stint Removal, 3/12 repeat SHG and HSG- showed scar tissue blocking right tube
    4/12- Operative hysteroscopy (again), RE said he can now see right tube (yay!)
    5/12- Stint removal, 6/12 repeat SHG and HSG-both tubes are open!
    8/12- IUI #4 Bravelle = BFN
    9/12-IUI #5 Bravelle = BFN
    1/13- IVF #1, micro-flare protocol, 7R, 6F, 5dt of 2 AA embryos, 1 to freeze = BFP
    Beta #1: 176, Beta #2: 422, EDD 10/8/13- it's TWINS!

    No more betas in my world!  Ultrasound is next Thursday.  I don't think my RE puts a ton of stock into the beta numbers.  But everything I've read said it should double within 72 and it did. :)

    If your RE says it is okay, then it is okay. You are pregnant! Woohoo!
    TTC #1 since October 2008. Dealing with MFI.
    IVF #1 w ICSI in July 2010 = BFN
    IVF #2.1 in Oct 2010 converted to IUI = BFN
    IVF #2.2 w ICSI in Dec 2010 = BFN
    Met with new RE in new city on 1/31/11.
    IVF #3 w ICSI in April 2011. HPT on 5/9 = BFP!
    Beta #1 on 5/10 (10dp5dt) = 99.4. Beta #2 on 5/12 = 284. First u/s on 5/26. = Fraternal TWINS!
    Twin boys born & lost on 8/16/11 at 18w1d due to PPROM & preterm labor.
    IVF #4.1 in Jan 2012 converted to IUI on 1/7/12 = BFN
    IVF #4.2 w ICSI in Feb 2012. Lupron on 2/10. Stims on 2/18. ER on 2/29- 7R,6F
    ET scheduled for 3/5/12- nothing to transfer :(
    Dh seeing new MFI uro & Dh starting meds- June 2012.
    IVF #5 in Dec 2012 = BFFN.
    IVF #6 planned for Spring 2013. Praying for our take home baby/ies.

    Congratulations!!!  You are fine!  Yes, it can take anywhere from 48-72 hours for betas to double.  I only had 2 betas with this pg, 48 hours apart.  My 1st beta on 8dp5dt was 119.  48 hours later at 10dp5dt it only went to 200, but RE wasn't the slightest bit concerned.  I never had any more betas after that.  And so far I'm 9w1d today and little gummy bear looks great on u/s.  Good luck!  I hope you have a great u/s!!!

    Yay - congratulations again!  Try your best not to freak out, even though I know that's impossible :)  Can't wait to hear about your u/s!
