WW and BFing

I really need to lose weight. I'm not talking baby weight so much because I am pretty much at my pp weight. I am seriously overweight though and I need to do something about it. I am EBFing and I am concerned that the combination of losing weight and introducing solids in the near future will kill my supply. Anyone have positive stories to share (or ones where it dropped your supply, too!)? I know WW has a program for BFing moms, but I know someone who tried it and her supply really went down. TIA!

  • Definitely! I become such a slacker after the first couple weeks. It's nice to have a buddy!

  • I'm doing WW with my friend who is BFing and her supply hasn't changed. You get more points per week if you BF.

    Good luck!

  • I started it at 8 weeks pp and had about 17-20 lbs left to lose.  I've lost 10 lbs (and have kept it off) but am not currently counting points. I got tired of it, we had a lot of events (I'm making tons of excuses...haha). My supply did not drop.  I just made sure I drink a lot of water and I also have oatmeal for breakfast every morning (low points and good for BF).

  • I started WW about 6 weeks ago and I  EBF.  I have lost 13 lbs...7 lbs under my PP weight.  I am always hungry, but they give you a TON of extra points since you BF.  My supply has not gone down, but every day I eat oatmeal or lactation cookies to make sure it stays up.  :)  Good luck!!
