TMI! Crusty nipples....

TMI, but really, what isn't during pregnancy?

 I'm 15w3d pregnant and I'm getting this white/yellowish crust on the tips of my nipples, right in the hole I suppose. It's not much, mind you. Just enough to want to scrub (ouch!) it off and look gross. I heard this is normal late in pregnancy (colostrum?), but I've only just entered the 2nd trimester. Is this normal so early?

I have my 16 week checkup next week, so I'll be asking my OB then. But some reassurance right now would be nice. TIA.

    Totally normal, I used to wake up with a crusty spot on my shirt when I was pregnant with DS.

    Yeah, I just started having it this week as well. Freaked me out a little at first but I guess it comes with the territory...

    Normal :-) everyone starts producing and getting ready at different times. Just be careful because there is an infection you can get- i can't think of the name- and your nipples can get like clogged. So def check with your doctor to make sure everything is good! I'd recommend going out and buying that  Lansinoh Lanolin cream.  When mine started getting crusty it helped a ton. I just put it on before bed. And when you take a shower be careful to not rub too much soap on them as it can dry them out more.

    Yep, my crusty nips started around 17wks I think. It looks clear/yellowish to me.

    Ok, good. I'm glad it's normal this early. I guess it's a good sign then, maybe I won't have problems with my milk coming in. I hear for some women it never comes in.
