St Patrick's Day Babies?

Anyone else have a St Patrick's Day baby? DS just had to come early to celebrate the holiday. I would love to be able to wear a shamrock necklace to celebrate DS since it is so fitting. Has anyone found any cool ones? (I accidently bought inexpensive diamond earrings before DS's birth because I thought with his due date he was 100% going to have an April birthstone, oops)

Re: St Patrick's Day Babies?

  • DS is a St. Patty's Day baby! I hadn't thought about getting a shamrock necklace, but what a great idea!  You could also do a Claddagh ring/necklace or something like that. I haven't found anything online that I like. Are there any Irish gift shops near you? We have a few near us and they always have such cool stuff, and it's usually stuff you cannot find online or anywhere else.

  • Just want to say I love the shamrock necklace idea! Try googling it, you'll probably find something.
  • There aren't any close but that is a good idea, maybe I should look in the Detroit area to see if there are any we can hit while visiting family. I've looked on Amazon but it is hard to know the quality since I have an allergy to cheaper metals (I think it is the nickel??) It is too bad when I was visiting Ireland in college I couldn't have forseen I would have a St Patrick's Day baby. It is a fun day for a birthday since it is always a holiday yet not too huge of a holiday that it overshadows your birthday like christmas. My water broke at 2:00am on St Patty's Day so it was like DS had it planned (there was no explanation of why I went into labor early when I had an otherwise relatively easy pregnancy), we are only a little fraction irish but my name Shannon is very irish.

  • Check out Etsy.com and look up shamrock necklaces.

LO was born on the 16th or St. Urho's day (Finnish). We live in one of the most Irish town west of the Mississippi, Everyone was hoping for St. Paddy's day, but I was only in labor for 12 hours so he was born at 8:45 pm.

  • DS was due on St Patricks day, but decided to come 5 weeks early. He was a day off from being a Valentine's baby.

Dogeared.com has really great simple shamrock necklaces and bracelets.

  • I have a St. Patty's day baby!!! Big Smile  My original EDD was 3/17/11 based on my LMP - but I was charting and had irregular cycles and I knew that wasn't right.  My dr and the dating u/s confirmed an EDD of 3/28/11.   Liam is very stubborn (I'm blaming this on his daddy Wink) and was breech, so we had a scheduled C-section on the 17th - my Dr picked the date - the one I was hoping for!!  He shares it with 3 aunts/uncles in our families!!   LOVE LOVE LOVE the necklace idea!!

  • I was hoping for a St. Patricks day baby, but she came on the 10th instead.  :)

I see you are in MI and if you are near the Detroit suburbs, there is a store in Livonia (my hometown), called Colleen's Gaelic Gifts.   https://www.colleensirishgiftshop.com/

I don't know if they would have what you are looking for, but its worth a try.

You may also want to check Esty.
