So can both babies go in the bottom part (I'm not sure if I'll really use the bassinet)? I thought that was the whole point. From what I read, people say that Graco says the bottom of the pnp is for one baby at a time?
So is the twin pnp the same size as a regular one (just with a dual bassinet) or is it larger? What about sheets? What sheets do you use? It doesn't seem they sell separate sheets for it and that regular size sheets can be used. If that's the case then isn't it the same size as a regular pnp?
Just trying to figure this out. Getting overwhelmed. Help!

Re: twin pack n play?
I *think* it's the same size as a regular, or if it is bigger it's not by much. The draw with it is the bassinet being separated, which is not a big deal, and only really matters for such a short amount of time. If you think you'll need PNP's for travelling, or even just to use at home, I'd just get two regular ones. My two shared the bassinet of a regular PNP for the first month at night, and then went to the nursery and shared a crib for another month before separating them. There's no way they would have been able to share the bassinet or bottom one PNP after the first couple of months, because they moved around too much, and then they just got too big.
Thank you. This is what I thought. I'm going to back to work when the babies are 3 months. My mom will be watching them 3 days a week and my MIL the other 2. So do you think I need 6 pnp's??? 2 for me, my mom, and MIL each.
My mom doesn't have a ton of room so I'm not even sure if 2 would fit there. My MIL has plenty of room. For us, we would keep them downstairs (our bedrooms are upstairs) and they would rarely be used for travel.

You definitely do not want to have to be lugging PnP's around so I guess 6 would be what you need. Will your MIL and Mom purchase their own? The cost is crazy. But I really do not see any other options. How long are they going to be watching them? Would it be better to purchase cribs like the Ikea cribs? If this is a long term babysitting you might want to consider it.
I know...these costs are really adding up
. I'm not sure if they will purchase their own. I really hope so, but DH will not ask them to. He says we're already saving on daycare/babysitting costs so he'd rather us just pay. Which I understand as well. Yes, it will be long term babysitting. So much to think about!
DH said who knew 2 little babies needed so much stuff???

You could definitely get by with 2 in that situation, but I think it would be a bit of a pain. I think 6 is overkill though. 4 would be a good compromise.
You could keep two at your mom's, and two at his mom's, and just not use them at home. Even when we had a 2 story house, we never needed PNP's for them there. For the first few months, they slept in their swings for naps (in the living room), but once they started napping in the cribs, they just slept in their room upstairs. It really wasn't a big hassle to do that. If you do it this way, you could just go grab the two from one of their houses to use when you travel out of town or whatever.
Or you could have two at your mom's since she'll have them more often, two to use at your house, and then take your two over to your H's parents' when they're watching the babies. They really don't take that much effort to fold up and take with you if you need to.
You could even just get one for each house right now, and then get a second when they're too big to share one, to spread the cost out some if you want.
And do not waste the money on the $100+ models with all the extra bells and whistles. As long as they have a bassinet feature (for newborns, if you do the one now, one later thing you could even go down to the absolute basic model for the second ones), that's all you really need. I think ours were about $50-60 each at Target and they worked fine.
First, let me say they are NOT the same size. The regular PnP sheets barely fit on, there is a difference. Hence the larger sheets for the twin.
The twin PnP is good for little infants as they both sleep in the bassinets. But when they're older, they will each need their own.
Our set up: 2 cribs at home, and one twin PnP for downstais where they slept in the early months. (Didn't sleep in the nursery until about 3-4 months b/c carrying 2 babies up and down the stairs 10 times a day is a WASTE.) If I were bringing them to my parents' for care I'd have 2 single PnP's there.
I recommend craigslist or ebay for PnPs in excellent to good condition for all extras. We did it and were happy.
GL!
I was going to get two of the entry level pnp's. would the babies be able to sleep together in one for the first month? or too small?
thanks for your advice.
