1st doctor's appointment

We had our 1st doctor's appointment today and the doctor agrees with us - Allison is human and is doing well! 

  • She's lost over a pound (8lb11oz at birth 7lb10oz today), but the doctor isn't worried because she's still peeing and pooping enough and my milk just came in. 
  • Her weight is in the 50th percentile. 
  • Her length is in the 50th percentile. 
  • Her head circumference is in the 30th percentile. 
  • He thinks she might look a little yellow and gave us an order to have bilirubin levels taken on Monday if we think she still looks yellow.  
So, overall, good news today!  And I survived taking her out in public for the first time!!

    Glad everything looks good.  Kellen lost 11 oz but started gaining when my milk came in (even if it's been slow).  Hopefully the yellow will work itself out.

    Might be a good idea to do the bilirubin levels as a precaution. DD was sent home from the hospital, and then we saw the pediatrician the next day. He said immediately that she was jaundiced and sent her back to the hospital for a blood draw. Her level was too high, so she had to be admitted to the NICU for 24 hours for light therapy.
