When I went to the Dr yesterday I was expecting to just turn in my 24 hour urine and have an ultrasound. I thought things were going pretty well but I guess I was wrong, lol.

My mild preeclampsia turned into severe preeclampsia and my liver enzymes were slightly elevated and my OB and MFM agreed there was no point in squeeking out another week and making me sicker so they said "Its time to have a baby".

I got the the hospital at 9pm last night and god admitted to a L&D room and my OB was in the hospital so she came in and talked to us again.

Here is the deal: Odds are that I am going to end up with a c-section due to having an extremely narrow pelvis and uncooperative cervix. BUT my OB knows that I really wanted a vaginal delivery and dont want a c-sect so she agreed to let me try! I had from last night till friday lunch time to get this baby out or we are having a c-section on friday.

They put in cervadil last night that has to stay in for 12 hours then they will check me so I will get checked at 11 today!!! PLEASE BE WORKING! Then we will go from there. I am having contractions on my own every 2 to 4 minutes but my cervix was firm and closed when they put the cervadil in.

Best of luck to you today! I hope you don't have to end up doing the c-section but the most important and exciting thing is that you will get to meet Foster by this weekend!! Yay!!

best of luck to you for a vaginal birth! Out of curiosity, how did they diagnose your "narrow pelvis" ? I have always heard that you can't determine in advance how baby will fit until you try.

I hope u are able to do the vaginal delivery. I went into labor close to where you are and dilated properly. However it was discovered i also have a narrow pelvis. After 90 min. of pushing with no progress he was stuck and i ended up with a c-section. While it wasn't what i wanted it gave me my little boy which was tye most important thing.

Hoping everything goes smoothly for you. What a great OB to let you try and delivery vaginally and avoid the C/S like you want. Fingers and toes crossed the cervidil is doing the trick...we can't wait to meet Foster.

Crossing my fingers and hoping you can have the vaginal delivery that you want!

FWIW - I was induced at 37 weeks (PIH) and had to labor for 2 days in order to deliver my son vaginally. I had Cervadil inserted on a Wednesday night and was on Pitocin for about 10 hours the following day. I had another dose of Cervadil inserted Thursday night, was back on Pitocin Friday morning, and delivered my son just before 7:00 that night. It was a long process, but I was really happy that I was able to have a vaginal delivery.
