Visiting friend's baby - need gift ideas

We're visiting out-of-state friends who have a 9-week-old. I want to take a gift to them, but honestly don't know what would be most useful. Should I get an outfit for the future (i.e. winter)? Diapers? Something else?

You would think I would no what to do since I just went down this road, but alas, my brain can't handle such a simple decision!

  • Diapers and wipes are always nice.  Has everything been bought from their registry?  If not, you could buy something from there.  I also loved having gift cards.

  • If it were me I'd do a gift card to Target, Babies R Us, or something like that for them to be able to get what they need. Or an outfit for later would also be good. At least that's what I'd want at that point. Smile
  • I'd probably do an outfit or some books, and a gift card for a local restaurant (since you probably can't bring a meal if you're traveling out of state), so they could get a takeout meal or something.

But, you can't go wrong with diapers and other essentials, for sure.
