My DH has accepted a job in Charlotte and will be commuting back and forth. Myself and DD's will be staying behind until our house sells. I have a 2 yr old and 10 yr old. I am looking at taking a couple of long weekend trips back in forth within the next couple of months. I would like to get some suggestions for particularly the 10 yr old on fun things to do in the area.
Re: Things to do in Charlotte
my nephew is a little older, but here are some things he likes/liked:
- natural history museum in Gastonia
-Discovery place uptown (science museum geared towards kids), also have an IMAX theater. I've heard good things about Imaginon downtown too, not sure exactly what ages its geared to though.
- ConcordMills mall- they have a Dave & Busters with tons of video games and a bowling alley; also a go-kart track
- Reeds Gold mine (gem mining)
- Dan Nicholas park in Salisbury...they have mini-golf, a carousel, small train ride, splash fountains and its very cheap
- Carowinds amusement park, he loves this place.
- Monkey Joe's / Bounce U/etc (there are a few more I can't remember the names)- also Chuck E Cheese but he may be too old for that...not sure.
