Baby Names

Spunky girl name suggestions?

Well, DH vetoed both Georgia and Brynn.  After having a hormonal fit and declaring this baby is going to remain nameless because of his stubborn ways, I'm ready to start over and keep looking.

What are your favorite spunky or tomboyish girl names?

TIA!

Thanks!  Yes, he said Georgia sounds old and masculine- yeah, figure that one out- and Brynn is too "boring" and sounds like a sound, not a name.  Ugh!

I'll add that his favorite names are Pheobe, Piper, Harper, Cheyenne, and Reese.

Spunky girl names? These are some I wouldn't normally pick, but your LO needs a name!

Andrea (nn Andy), Blair, Charlotte (nn Charlie), Drew, Eden, Fiona (nn Fee), Grayson, Harley, Ivy, Juno, Katherine (nn Kit), Lark, Maven, Neve, Olivia (nn Liv), Piper, Quinn, River (on the off chance your DH is a Firefly fan), Sage, Tess, Ursula, Wren, Xandra, Zena (who has more spunk than the warrior princess?)

  • I really like your current choice of Harper, I think it has the spunk and the unisex quality your looking for.  I would just choose a longer more girly middle name over grace (although I adore grace as a name just not with your combination for some reason)

    Harper Elaine

    Harper Elizabeth

    Harper Katherine

  • Phoebe was the first name that came to mind. It's at the top of our list, too.
    P - 9/2008
    A - 8/2010
    L - 1/2013
    S - 3/2015

I REALLY like Harper, too.  It's not on our list though, DH doesn't like it.

  • For anyone else, I'd have said Piper, hands down, but I can see where Piper Pond might be a bit much.  Phoebe's a good one...classic and common enough that it doesn't sound weird.

Another one I haven't seen mentioned that I'm loving lately:  have you considered Marin?  It may or may not be your style, though.

I'm not crazy about Marin, I think because it's the last name of a woman I'm not really fond of.

I'm really trying to like Phoebe because I do think it's cute, I just can't really picture myself using it!

    Thanks again everyone!

  • What about Maxine with the nn Maxey and Max? Very cute!
  • I like Nicolette, it's for a baby that's too cool to be named just Nicole lol

If you say it reminds you too much of Chloe Sevigny's character on Big Love, I rest my case - she was badass

I guess your DH liked the TV show, Charmed, huh?

If you went with Reese, I'd think of Reese Witherspoon and her daughter, Ava (because of your older DD). Not a bad correlation, but it's my thought.

I actually like Harper.  And Piper too (Piper Laurie).
