Help me with a newborn hold (T2T) (in a RS or wrap)

I don't feel like I have the leg thing right.  I feel like I'm going to break his feet or something, and I'm not sure if their legs should be crossed at the ankle or not.  I mean, it doesn't seem right to me that they would "sit" on their feet.  What am I doing wrong?

  • In a ring sling I did feet out. See?

It was LOs favorite for a long time. She hated feet in.

You're right.  He shouldn't be sitting on this feet.  You can scrunch/fold/froggy your newborn's legs.  Just put his feet up in front of his stomach/chest.

There are two good pictures here:  https://zolowear.com/WearingKangaroo.aspx I'm not suggesting that you have to use the kangaroo position.  It's just that your baby can face you and have his feet crossed.  He spent a lot of time like that in utero.  He'll let you know when he's sick of it and wants to be "legs out."

ETA:  These pictures don't t show HOW the LOs feet are inside the ring sling.  They just help show that legs-in is legit:  https://site.peppermint.com/instructions/kangaroocare_ringsling.pdf
