Any new fun exciting things?
I officially think we've hit the "18 month word explosion" in our house. That also means I need to clean up my act!
Last night we told Cooper he needed to start saying his ABC's before he could eat dinner (as a joke) and he responded with "A-B-C." This morning I was singing the ABC song and before I said "S" he chimed in. He sings along with me when we sing "Zacchaeus" and does most of the hand motions. This morning he woke up early so I let him drink his milk in our bed and watch TV - asoon as the show came on, he started waving "Hi Choo-choo. Hi!"
Re: Haven't done this in a while...brag on your kids!
rory is working on days of the week and is developing a pretty good imagination. she loves to play with her stuffed animals and has the cutest conversations with them.
My Abbie has been with my Dad and SM in PA for a week now all by herself and has done so well. I know it's really not that long, but she and I have never been away from eachother for more than 4 days ... and that was on my Honeymoon 2 years ago. She went to 2 amusement parks and rode all the rides she could, most of them by herself. She's a little daredevil.
Collin is 9 months and just started babbling out of nowhere. He only ever said Mama and Dada once or twice, so we didn't think he'd ever talk, lol. All of a sudden he started saying Bubba, Dada (all the time), Mama (just every now and then), and Abbie! He says it Aaa-Buh! I thought it was a coincidence but he only says it when we say Abbie or when he sees her. Too cute! He's been crawling since he was 6 months and has zero interest in walking. He will cruise, but if you try to put him on his feet to stand, he goes right to the floor to crawl. I love it - is it bad that I am dreading him walking? lol.

We were headed to dinner with friends on Monday night, and DS was just talking a way in the back seat. He started saying "Hi, my name is Zachary" - so we were telling him good job. Then all of a sudden he busted out with his full name (our last name is a PITA)! We were shocked! We just stared at each other and were trying to figure out who taught him. Maybe daycare teaches the full names, but the way he pronounced it was spot on, and usually people don't say it that way. It was funny and amazing at the same time. lol.
Yes - he also said "crap" clear as day last night at the dinner table after I had said it (not thinking) while talking to DH. :-/
Evan has started giving kisses. It is sooooo cute. When we drop him off at daycare I ask for a hug and kiss before I leave and he runs over to me, gives me the hug and kiss, and then runs back to his toy while saying bye. Oh, and two little girls in his class at daycare try to hug and kiss on him and he pushes them away. It is really funny.
Evan really wants to talk and I can't wait until we hit the word explosion phase. He babbles full sentences and then looks at us like we are crazy for not understanding him. This can sometimes lead to him screaming ant pointing, but he is trying. Oh, and he said "bye cow" the other day as we passed a cattle truck on the freeway. Ah, this is the stuff I love!

I think I've managed to finally scrub *** from L's vocabulary. She walked around saying it ALL the time. I've had to find a new emergency word
She starts school in 6 weeks. She's huge. She has a bunch of new words, my favorite is "ice." She says Eye-thththththththth really dramatically. It's half word, half raspberry.
C is walking everywhere and probably will be running soon. I got him a good pair of shoes and I swear as soon as I put them on his feet he took off.
He's starting to say lots of little words... shoes, juice, horse... and a bunch of things we have no clue what he is saying. The other day DH said he sat down on the floor, said "shoes" and started playing with his shoes. He also has a rocking horse in his room that my BIL made. Its the first thing he says in the morning... "horse". He has to play with his horse in the morning and before bed.
Its also so fun to see how much he understands. If I say "where's your milk", he'll go find wherever he left his cup... "use your fork" and he'll pick it up off his tray... "lets go find your horsey" and he'll run to the stairs to go up.
Its still just so fun... except for the crying after being told "no", ha.
DS will say Ice non stop. FIL carries a cup of crushed ice 100% of the time and now C thinks that if we have a cup of water, it has ice. I'm so tired of his grubby little hands in my water!
I think, knock on wood, that DS#1 is off of the paci. He has only used it at night for a long time now but he was so addicted to it. On Sunday night DH cut part of the nipple off. DS was so upset and said it was broken etc. but still slept with it that night. Monday night and last night he didn't even ask for it, just said it was broken. Thankfully it hasn't ruined his sleep! I am so proud that he gave it up without blinking an eye. I love how well he can communicate with us. He is such a happy guy and is always singing songs and dancing and just making us smile. He has also started interacting with baby brother more. The other day I walked into the room and he was telling the baby "I'm gonna eat your toes!" We always play this game so it was so cute!
DS#2 finally learned to roll over. He has been stuck up on his arm for weeks now so I am glad he is finally able to get over it. He is just such a happy guy...I love watching him smile at his big brother.
Cameron is also all about "Eye-sh" right now - both the word and the substance.
At his well-check today, he was 60th%-tile for weight, 80th for length, and 85th for head - my little 3rd %-tile (for weight) peanut has grown by leaps and bounds!
This week's new tricks - rolling down the car window and taking his shirt off. Twice I've come to get him out of the crib (once after nap, once in the morning) to find a shirtless baby.
Gideon is finally past his fear of water in the face. A few weeks ago he started to dog paddle without his life jacket, and just last week is now swimming with his face in the water and eyes open. He was even moving his arms as if he was doing the breast stroke. Unfortunately it still takes him a bit to warm up each and every time we get into the pool.
E just cracks me up. Her expressions are so funny. She will get into a corner and do a countdown (not quite counting) then say "go" and run across the room, then go back in the corner and do it again. She will do this by herself for about 15 minutes totally entertaining herself.
lol. I can't wait for the day when L turns to someone and says, "We don't put ice in our wine." She hears that one a lot
Let's see... Cooper is apparently Mr. Popularity at school, when we arrived this morning three of the other kids crowded around and were trying to hug and kiss him, he got all bashful. The teacher finally had to shoo them away. It was hysterical but now I know why he's sick every other week!
The words just keep coming, I quit counting/keeping a list when we got past 50. Now he says words all the time that we didn't even know he knew. Definitely time to clean up my language! He also knows/recognizes a few more letters, at first he only knew the ones in his name, but now he knows T and B too. But whenever he sees them he shouts C! O! P! E! R! I'm never going to convince him that D not O comes after C. haha
Just today, Ryan mastered sitting himself up from laying down. He is trying so hard to crawl. He spends a lot of time in the downward-facing dog yoga position. It is the cutest thing. He is mobile but not purposefully mobile. I know it is only a matter of days before he is 100% mobile. Yikes. Here we go again!
It is hard to brag on William at the moment because he has become a holy terror lately, and I am getting quite frustrated. Every single thing is a battle, and we have more tantrums than I can stand. On the bright side, he is super creative. His little world is full of objects to grill (coasters, plastic rings, bread) and games to play (bowling with water bottles, tennis with a piece of foam). It is amazing to watch his mind go.
Tracey is pretty much poop potty trained, so that's a real good thing. Still working on pee, but the fruit snack bribes are working pretty well.
I amazed at how observant she is and how great her memory is about places. She will see some place we've been to once and now point it out every time we drive by. She knows where every regularly placed "digger" is in this city, and is on constant lookout for more.
She's got the alphabet down pat, and is working on some lower case letters. She likes to write Ts everywhere and thinks that every set of letters "SPELLS T-RACEY!"
Overall, they are getting along with each other MUCH better. It makes life so much easier when they aren't playing UFC all the time.
Joseph has been doing great in his big boy bed. We lay with him until he dozes off and then get up. Since he got it a week ago, he's only gotten up once and snuck into my bed. His vocabulary and speech continue to amaze me.
Avery is obsessed with things being beautiful. To her, everything is beautiful. She is also crazy opinionated, which is good and bad depending on the situation.

Samuel is talking up a storm, using short sentences (or rather, 3 word commands like "Up Mama, come!" to try to get me to go somewhere), generally acting adorable and the cutest kid ever. And... he's pooping on the potty! Wheeeee!!!!!!!! Not all the time, but about half the time this week he's hollered poo poo and tries to get to the potty and I race after him to strip the diaper off so he can sit and be a big boy. After a potty success he goes around to everyone in the house to inform them what he has done so everyone can cheer for him.
Eloise tried out a new phrase the other day. She got frustrated with carrying some stuff and said "Oh screw it!" I about fell over. I thought we'd cleaned up our language, but hearing that come out of her mouth made me realize that DH and I need to clean it up some more. She will also tell you "little pitchers have big ears". She doesn't understand it really, but she knows she's the little pitcher and informs me that she has big girl ears.
I get told daily I have the happiest baby in the world and that she is never upset or cries ever. Even at daycare when she goes 6+ hours without sleep. The teachers at daycare ask all the time how I got so lucky and if she ever cries. She is such an easy happy go lucky baby.
She understands already what the word no means and I can't be more proud of her. She's starting to stand on her own and cruises around the house holding on to things. She can now say the word dog even though its dah after we point to the dogs. She doesn't want to wave, clap or say mama but thats okay.
