Trying to Get Pregnant

Any former Mirena users out there?

Hey all! I"m new to this board, but I'm hoping to be TTC starting in Sept. I have the Mirena now, and also I have PCOS. Just kind of curios to see if any of you had the mirena and how long it took you to have your 1st cycle after removal. It took us 3 mos to conceive DS with a little help, (and a year off bc before that before I finally got a correct diagnosis!), so I expect it'll take at least that long for #2. Thanks for any input :)

I just had mine removed and Ive had 2 AF's since then.  I guess time will tell when we get Pregnant.  I would suggest getting it out now or soon so your body can regulate it's self.  I'm still trying to figure mine out.

    Good Luck! :)

  • I got mine out and started my cycle two days later.  I've been ttc for 3 months now and have been very regular so far.
  • I had the mirena  after DS1 and before DS2. It only took one month to conceive after the removal but it did end in miscarriage (I am just prone to them; so don't worry) and then I had another miscarriage and then conceived DS2. So total it was 6months. GL. I loved the mirena. Hopefully it helped to slow things down with the PCOS while you were on it so you could potentially be very fertile right away.

  • I had mine removed on May 5, 2011 and I have been pretty regular with my cycles so far. I just had alot of problems with mine in the end that's why I had it removed. My husband and I are trying to concieve, but I have been told by my doctor to not get my hopes up, because some woman concieve right away and some take awhile.

  • I had mine removed in June. First AF was July 7 - normal cycle for me. This is our first TTC cycle, I guess we'll see what happens! Good luck to you.

  • I had mine removed on 05/02. I spotted a little about a week later. Had AF on 06/16 and 07/15. My cycles went from 32 to 31 days. They have been 32 days since AF started when I was 11. Just as an FYI - I always had really easy periods...no cramping, light flow etc and now they are INSANE. I don't know if it's becaue I havn't had one since I got pregnant with DS (06/07) or what but AF is back with a vengance! I can't wait to get my BFP, have baby #2 and get my Mirena back!
